This Mac book over all is great. It boots up fast and the battery last a really last long time. The processing power on this computer is really fast. Youtube videos load to the click. And i installed Minecraft for my son and it doesn't have a problem loading the huge maps on that game. Over all Apple has done it agin!

Easy to use and light to carry. Great display clear

This is the 3rd MacBook I've purchased in recent years (for myself, my wife, and my daughter). My wife and I are both recent converts from the PC realm ... and we couldn't be happier with our overall Mac experiences. Heightened reliability, reduced virus risk, intuitive functionality makes use of the MacBook a joy!

Let me start this review off by saying that most if not all the laptops I buy are in the $1000+ range. I buy mainly business models from various manufacturers. I've used Dell Latitudes , HP Elitebooks , Lenovo ThinkPads , etc. I do a variety of different tasks including some engineering work. This Macbook Retina Pro (MF839LL/A ) , is not only great for basic tasks but it can handle more demanding tasks such as photo editing and coding. Keep in mind that at the time of this review , this model is already over two years old , but it's still a great machine! Of course it can't compete with something like a ThinkPad W series machine in raw power but for the specs it has it does fine. Apple uses a high quality screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 in this laptop and it's calibrated from the factory as well. This makes it a great machine for light photo editing since without calibration you may not get the right colors. The 16:10 aspect ratio is amazing as well! . The keyboard is pretty good. The only machines I've used that have a noticeably better keyboard than this Mac are a Lenovo ThinkPad W530 and a Lenovo ThinkPad X230t . The X230t and W530 actually have the same keyboard so that's why I'm including both. The force touch trackpad on this Mac is unmatched though. Now as far the software goes , the Mac OS works nicely but as a power user I missed the more technical configuration options that Windows 7 / 8 / 10 come with. I should mention that web browsing is more of a joy on this laptop that any other laptop once you get used to Safari and the gestures. I'm still getting used to the Apple ecosystem so I'm sure there are tons of features I'm not familiar with. I know that many Apple account functions work on this Mac including "Find my Mac." Apple again demonstrates that on paper specs can't never tell the whole story! Here are the main cons of this machine: Not user upgradable (even if you can change the SSD , the warranty gets voided) Lack of next business day onsite warranty (from what I understand only big companies can get this service through Apple) Although this machine feels solid it can't take the type of punishment a ThinkPad can. No support for ECC RAM (not even the 15.4" model supports ECC RAM)

I previously had an HP laptop, it was constantly wanting to be updated from day to day. Ever since I brou this home and plugged it in, this is the best thing ever. Super quick and easier to use than the HP.

Couldn't pass up this powerful laptop when Best Buy offered it on sale. The laptop is reliable, fast, and powerful, as is expected of Apple products running solid-state drives. But the icing on this cake is the fabulous ultra-high definition Retina Display. So sharp; makes working on this laptop a real pleasure.

I upgraded to this from my 2013 macbook air, I must say the screen on this thing is amazing. Its slightly bigger than the air and a little heavier but thats not a big deal to me. It does get a little warm with heavy use. Best laptop I ever owned.

Was replacing an Apple Air laptop (five year old) which had screen broke. Decided to go with MacBook, d/t more memory, faster processor. have not noticed problem with the increased weight. Still much lighter than a PC. Faster computer with faster bandwidth speed than old computer. Very pleased after three months

I recently bought my daughter the MacBook Pro during the tax free time if Florida. The computer is easy to use and setup. This computer will last her throughout high school and into college. She has already complete research and online homework with ease. I recommend apple products over Microsoft based computers.

This is my fist Mac, after being a Windows user. The interface is intuitive and easy to use; and the Retina screen is simply gorgeous. The laptop is well made, with high end components and excellent fit and finish. The unit is fast and efficient; the solid state storage makes sure everything is speedy. Love it!

I was very interested in the New Macbook but it was too slow. It looked cool but this the New Macbook Pro 2015 track pad is working perfect . I am loving my 13 inch Retina display. The weight is perfect :) Don't buy a Air just get the pro :))

I bought this as a replacement for my PC that stopped working. I am unbelievably impressed with the quality that this has. I was hesitant about a Macbook from all the rumors about how "You can't do anything on it," and "They aren't easy to use." I have an iPhone so it's so easy to use and especially easy to sync with my phone. The consistency of the operating system with my phone is great. It allows me to access all of my classwork without a problem and any issues that I have run into have been easily found by Googling.

Nice value. Too bad not on sale often. Light weight and nice to work with. Need to offer more specials for students. Lightweight and fast. Easy to use.Lots to learn.

I was a bit iffy about purchasing a MacBook, but after having purchased it, I have come to realize I am highly satisfied with my purchase. It is the perfect size for me, since I am a college student and need something that is not too big or too small. It is easy to get used to and the battery life is great.

I needed a new laptop for my doctoral research and writing. This MBP offers the power to run a few programs simultaneously without slowing down, and the battery life to work for hours without a power source. The retina display is gorgeous, and the computer is thin and light-weight. The only downside is the initial financial investment, but Best Buy does honor the student/higher ed pricing!

I love my MacBook Pro. Runs super fast and very reliable. I run multiple applications at a time and it doesn't hinder the speed of the Mac what so ever. I love how it connects with all my other Apple devices. Truly gives you the Apple experience. If you have money for a Mac. Don't hesitate, GET IT!!!

Bought this for my son as an upgrade to a 4 year old laptop. It is lighter faster and more robust by a factor of 2. The apple is also pretty rock solid in terms of software and reliability. Very light and easily fits into a backpack. Has access to all the software he needs. Another good Apple purchase.

This computer has been amazing for me. I am throughly impressed with the ease of use. I was primarily a pc user and have to admit I was a little intimidated by Macs!! I am happy to say that I had a seamless transition. The battery life is outstanding as well!! I'm sold!! Buying Macs from here on out!
