Not enough Storage

I store all my files in the cloud and use dropbox and back up to an external hard drive and it doesn't matter...the Mac doesn't have enough storage for my photo's - which was something I very specifically discussed on each of my five trips to the store asking questions before ever making the purchase. I know have to figure out a way to upgrade which is ridiculous
