I held out a long time on buying a macbook and finally settled on buying from BestBuy. The sales rep at the Sparks store was great and helped to make sure I got something I wanted. I wanted the larger display but settled on the 13 inch display as my initial purchase back into Apple world. I have an iPad, Iwatch, iPhone but not a mac. I haven't used an apple since college and was afraid the operating system was going to be too hard after windows brainwashing. First it isn't that much of a transition. The system is stable doesn't crash and the programs run quick. If you have ever used a mac it is easy to get back into it as the system still has a lot of things its used to have way back when. Lots of new stuff too that windows will never have. I must say having an operating system designed to meet the physical device is awesome. It is super fast with the basic memory and I didn't need to update it all. Battery last about 3 days and usually use it about 1-2 hours per day. When I do use it for several hours non-stop it still runs like a champ Actually a laptop that doesn't get super hot or have a fan you can here. The battery also charges super fast! I bough an extra cord as I travel a lot which was an extra 80 bucks from Apple but totally work it. The cord is has a plug that magnetizes so if it gets bumped it disconnects. It also has a built in light to let you know it changing and when it is charged. most of the time my laptop is not connected to the power cable. The only bad side to my purchase was unfortunately BestBuy. It wasn't available at the store i went to but on the other side of town there was one left. I could buy the item at the store I was at and they would hold it for me or I could take my chances and race across town and hope for the best. i was going out of town on vacation and since I decided I would learn how to use it when I was on vacation I bought it one store and then was told i could go to the other store and pick it up. I had planned on this being a quick purchase I I needed to be at the local airport in 3 1/2 hours. When I arrived at the other store with my receipt in hand I promptly went the service desk pickup desk and there was my new mac locked behind the cage. I showed my id and my paid receipt but they couldn't give me the item. Apparently they have some crazy computer system that will let me walk out of the store I give my credit card to an pay for it. But if I pay at one store and pick up at another store it causes a problem I was told it has to go thru the fraud department and I would have to wait thirty minutes to wait for the purchase to clear. When I pointed out that the purchase had cleared and if I had bought it there I would have simply left with the item she agreed and again pointed out that the fraud department investigates all these purchases before they can be released. The rep was less than nice at the store in the outlet mall near I-80. She kept giving me weird looks like I was asking too much to pick up the item I had already paid for and was told I could simply pick up. When I explained I needed to be at the airport she threw here hands up and said there was nothing she could do. I explained I didn't have 30 minutes to wait again and said that sadly I would need to have them return the money to my credit card. Not refund it in cash return it to my credit card. Again I was told because the fraud department was investigating it they couldn't even return my money to my credit card. I asked to speak to the store manager who was friendly and I explained the situation and stated there was a back up paper system to handle this type of problem We quickly filled out the paperwork 45 minutes later I had my computer in hand and left. For a place that prides itself on having the latest technology the purchase process of buying at one store and picking up at another is stuck in 1990. It would seem that there would be a quick process to ensure that the stores should be able to communicate with each other but there wasn't. The manager was the only reason I even got the computer because the 30 minute time limit she quoted me initially came and went. I was in San Francisco airport when I got an email saying my item was ready for pickup even though several hours had passed since I left the store. Strange BestBuy experience. I have bought lots of stuff but never left feeling like I did something wrong before. None of the staff at the BestBuy made me feel like I was an important part of their job or I was the reason they had a job. I left feeling like I was unvalued and caused a lot of work for people who didn't want to work and they were happy to see me leave. Only the manager was cordial and was willing to actually help me and not have an attitude like I was inconvenience. I used to experience this at another store it used to be called CircuitCity. They went out of business. Hopefully someone from BestBuy management actually reads these reviews and does something to fix these problems. Especially the customer service desk people who obviously are not well suited to deal with people who have had an unhappy shopping experience. Valuing your customer is the most important thing you can do in business. As a business owner I have a small sign right near my cash register that says "Smile and take care of our customer or someone else will". A reminder that there is always someone who is willing to take away your business if your customer does not leave happy. Will I buy the 15inch MacBook I really wanted from BestBuy? Not sure yet but I will buy it from somewhere as my Macbook pro rocks!

If you want the latest laptop then get this one since i honestly dont think its worth spending extra money for more space that being said its very light, fast and a good looking product. Now the thing i hated is they somehow integrated a pressure sensitive mouse pad and it doesnt feel right when trying to click, you have to barely push down for the first click but if you apply some pressure you make a second click kind of like the iwatch it doesnt translate well to the laptop sure you can get used to it but you are better off getting a mouse seriously

After watching Steve Jobs (2015), I was inspired. I wanted to be a part of this cultural rush over to Mac after so many years of being trapped into using a Windows computer. The quality difference is staggering. It's blinding. The retina display makes 4k UHD look childish. The speed, the way the keys resonate power, even as I'm typing this review, is almost godly. I feel like a better typer almost immediately. Highly recommended if you are on the computer 8-12 hours a day, like me.

Lightweight, small, easy to use, very fast and responsive.

Great computer. Absolutely smooth in operation and no virus issues. I made the decision to switch to Apple from Windows based computers years back and have never turned back. The processor speeds, graphics card, and retina display are all top notch. Don't hesitate in making this purchase, whether it is this model or any updated one.

Are there window laptops with better specs for $1,299? of course, but I needed this for Apple software for my video editing. These are built to last, super fast and lightweight and very easy on the eyes. Storage too small? I have everything on the cloud and use up very little storage. Must buy for people getting into editing anything!

I have always used windows for all my computer needs. I must say that the macbook pro is phenomenal. It is so simple to use and the retina display is amazing. Its almost as if i can reach in through the screen. The new intel core enables me to run multiple apps and programs with no issues. I would recommend this laptop to anyone.

This MacBook Pro is just what I expected in regards to speed, resolution of the retina display and the life of the battery. I tend to have 10+ windows opened while studying and the speed is not affected by it.

My pros for the this product is that it is easy to use, but if your coming from a PC it's a little odd to get use to at first. You're able to transfer your photos from other apple devices by iCloud. Plus, the weight is a bonus as a student. My con's are that it does not have a CD drive. I cannot transfer my CD music on to iTunes. You cannot tap as clinking with the mouse pad. Plus, another windows pop up as you open a folder. And it is a tad pricy. Overall, I would still purchase it because of the software it can take. However, if your using it for engineering softwares or gaming I recommend you to get PC.

I have always wanted a Mac and now I finally have one. I absolutely love everything about it. It's faster, lighter and the screen is smaller than my other lap top, the screen size doesn't matter because the display is so clear and crisp that a bigger screen is not needed. I highly recommend this computer.

Admittedly, Apple products come at a premium. I bought this computer for my daughter. If it wasn't on sale at Best Buy at the time of the purchase, I probably would not have bought it. I first walked into the Apple Store, but their employee pointed out that Best Buy had a $200 discount on the model I wanted. It is really difficult to justify the high price. WIth that said, my daughter is in middle school and has been using her laptop daily. What I appreciate most is that it has a Solid State Harddrive, so it can take the beating of a student carrying it around. Its interface is very child-friendly and it came packed with useful Apple software, like iMovie, that she can use for her school projects without paying to pay extra for additional software. Finally, it is amazing how easily and seamlessly Apple products can sync her work: what she started on one Apple product shows up on the other Apple product without having to have technical knowledge of syncing/transferring. I suppose, this is why Apple product owners pay the big bucks. The computer doesn't have a CD/DVD drive, which I thought would be a problem, but as it turns out, Apple products don't really need one. Since we got this computer, with the addition of an Apple TV, we have joined the digital world of iTunes, Apple TV and Netflix. I took away one star because an Apple computer is significantly more expensive than a comparably loaded PC; plus, the HD is on the small side.

I have only had this computer for a couple of days, but I am absolutely in love with it. It is beautiful, sleek, and fast. After having computers with windows for most of my life, I was ready for a change. It has been a bit challenging trying to get accustomed to this new interface, but it only takes practice. The retina display is gorgeous, and the lit up keyboard as well. I am a student and I am not the most tech savvy so I feel this is the perfect computer.

The MacBook Pro replaced a 5 year old pc. It is amazingly fast and it was easy to set up especially our various email accounts. Also, it easily synced with my two android devices. I should have paid the extra and gotten 256 gigs on the hard drive, but I got an external hard drive which works fine.

I bought this computer to replace my PC which was on the fritz...again. It has met and exceeded my expectations. It is fast, lightweight, and easy to use. I'm not sure why I ever went back to a PC from my old MacBook Pro, but I am sure this computer will last me another 5+ years just like my old one.

The computer is everything you would expect from Mac. It is light, portable, fast, simple, and reliable. No complaints here. Its not flawless like some would suggest, but it is the best computer I have owned. Startup is lightning fast, battery life is good, and mishaps are short lived or easily remedied.

The retina display is crisp and absolutely a pleasure to work with. It is also very accurate in color reproduction making it ideal for photo and video editing. The battery works as advertised <9-10 hrs depending on usage and wifi/bt. The force touch feels like you're clicking but its just a taptic feedback from a vibrating motor. So far I haven't really used the press and hold feature for anything. It does feel nice and you can click anywhere on the trackpad but it's not a necessary feature nor is worth upgrading from a 2014 model for this feature. The SSD is insanely fast due to the NVMexpress protocol resulting in write at ~650MB/s and read speeds at ~1300MB/s. All applications load up fast and there is no GUI lag. 8GB is plenty for normal consumption/usage for my particular needs. The SSD is only 128GB which is not that much but since I only store documents, pictures and music it is not an issue for me. I purchased it when it was on sale and used a mover's coupon bringing it less than $1000 which was about $300 cheaper than Apple.

I have had several different laptops in the past -HP, Dell. This laptop is a superior quality. Easy to use. Slim. Fast. Organized. I had a great experience at the Best Buy at the Tennessee Rivergate location. Everyone was very helpful, answered all of my questions, and made sure I got a great value.

I was hesitant at first, looking at the price but I was determined to look for MacBook. First looking for a MacBook which would provide me with a fast processor, great display, and very sleek. The MacBook had all these features and then some. I don't have any complaints using it, very satisfied.

I bought this MacBook to replace my old MacBook Pro that was having several issues. It was only 3 years old, and within those 3 years, I had to take it to the Apple store 4 times to get it fixed because it was having issues with the hardware and wiring, etc. In other words, it had a lot of manufacturing problems due to the way the hard drive was made. Finally, I decided to upgrade to this MacBook because I was spending too much money on repairing my old one. On this new model, they fixed the old hard drive problems (which were apparently very common) by redesigning the hard drive and making it more durable and accountable. It's significantly faster than my old MacBook and the retina screen makes a big difference!! I am very happy with my purchase and wish I would've upgraded sooner.
