I should have bought sooner
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using an iPad 2 forever and finally decided to go for it and got this Macbook pro. I should have done this long ago. love the size and speed. I travel some so it fits nicely in the backpack i purchased for it. Does not take long to charge, thin, and fast. Definitely worth the money

Sleek, Beautiful and Well Worth the $$
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The retina screen is amazing and this model is fast and very responsive. Very lightweight construction leads to an easy to manipulate device and not a strain on the back to carry around. Would like it if it were more upgradable after the sale but that is just Apple's new way of doing things.

I wanna say excellent!, but it's still real good!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a PC user all my life, first smart phone was an Android, second was an Apple, never looked back. I appreciate how Apple products flow and harmonize with one another. I am still adapting with their OS and feel confident that I will be able to maneuver through it as I progress with this product. A pulchritudinous display, a subtle keyboard, and a touchpad that has me hesitant on purchasing a mouse. I intend to use this investment, for writing, organizing, and editing some content. It is a true motivator to get you going with what you've always intended for. With that being said, to give a 5 star, it would need to be perfect. It's really close, but in my opinion the storage space could have been a bit heavier for the money that I invested with this product. I understand their marketing intention with the concept just not in accord with it. I hope my review serves you well. Thank you.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop - lightweight, full of great features, the battery life is awesome and the screen is amazing. Apple did a great job on this redesign. I would skip getting the big hard drive, cloud space is so cheap. Highly recommend buying from Best Buy, they had a great deal when I bought i!

Best overall "value" mac!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned a mid 2009 macbook pro and I loved that system dearly. The keyboard had the perfect amount of travel and it was built quite well. After nearly six years, a battery replacement, and ssd my old macbook was finally getting long in the tooth. So I decided to buy it's successor, and I've been quite pleased with the tweaks Apple has done to the machine. Yes, this 2015 model doesn't look much different, but if it ain't broke don't fix it. However the internals are vastly improved, and the ability to actually run final cut pro at a decent rate is quite remarkable for such a tiny computer. I also love the improved battery life on the 2015, even with a new battery my old macbook could only get 3 hours at best. Now with the 2015 model I'm getting about 7-8 hours with regular usage. The only complaint I have with this computer is the keyboard travel as it is more shallow than my old 2009 macbook pro. I'm guessing Apple decided to make thinness a priority while hurting ergonomics.

Perfect for our needs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this MacBook for my son, as his Toshiba died about 6 months ago. He had his heart set on a Mac after using them in Early College at The University of Alabama, and he is not disappointed in the least. I was a little leery of the 128GB HD as I was worried it would fill up too fast with pictures, videos, and music, but an external 1TB drive took care of those worries. The 128GB HD being solid state makes the Mac perform at a MUCH higher level (up to 100 times faster data access). The fact that the HD also isn't as susceptible to shock (disk or read head damage) is a big plus. I don't care how mature your 16 or 17 year old is, they're still kids and are prone to making kid mistakes. Solid State drives are the only way to go. Overall we are extremely pleased with our purchase and if we could afford another, we would buy without hesitation. If there is any drawback to the MacBook Pro, it is the price. But you get what you pay for. Happy campers, here.

I think of it more as a Retina MacBook Air
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is somewhere in between a MacBook Air and the more capable models of MacBook Pros. In all I really like my MacBook. I got it while it was on sale for the same price as the older non-retina 13" MacBook Pro. When just web surfing and doing light weight tasks the battery is amazingly long lasting. Doing office presentations using Air Play uses slightly more battery power but can easily do long board meetings without having to plug in. The best part is on these type of light weight tasks the fan is not spinning at all so the Retina MacBook Pro is completely quite just like the 12" MacBook. However unlike the MacBook when you do have to do heavier tasks it can still keep up. You can edit video and create music on this machine while away from the more powerful main desktop. It won't be as fast but it can still get it done. The only thing to keep in mind is don't block the air coming out of the bottom of the hinge or the laptop will overheat.

Excellent Update to Macbook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This updated macbook is great. The retina display is bright and a treat to look at. The updated processor and RAM make it zing. The new trackpad is a pleasure. All in all, I would highly recommend it. I had a macbook air and actually enjoy this pro quite a bit more. I would recommend upgrading to a 256 hard drive.

A well design laptop inside/out
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was somewhat skeptical about buying the Apple MacBook Pro but after going back-and-forth several times and playing around with it in the store I found its user friendliness very convenient. The screen display is excellent in quality. The hardware of the system is very fast and efficient. The laptop is thin light weight and gives very little heat, which is something that a lot of laptops have issues with. I would definitely recommend the laptop. The only reason I gave it a four is that I think Apple should also include a mouse with the laptop.

Excellent computer coming from a Windows User
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're on the fence between getting a Windows PC and an Apple PC and you are willing to spend the extra money, investing in an Apple computer is a great decision. Even if you don't use your computer for a lot of things, Apple computers are very reliable in several aspects including longevity, performance, battery life, etc. If you look at an Apple computer as just another brand with a different operating system, the decision is easier. The fact that Apple manufactures both the hardware and software for all of their products makes them that much better. If you need Windows to run certain programs or whatever, Apple even provides a program called Boot Camp for you to install Windows, provided you have a license, alongside OS X and use all of the resources of the computer. There is no placebo effect here. Just because you buy an expensive computer doesn't make it good because it's expensive; the Apple Macbook Pro is actually worth the money.

Great Computer for students and daily use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first Mac purchase and i am really surprised as to how quick and responsive this computer is. I have always been a die hard PC fan but after this purchase i was surprised as to how well built Macs are. Although this is a good computer, but like most electronics this piece has its own pros and cons. Pros: 1. great display the retina display adds more room to work with. default resolution is the same as macbook pro w/o retina 2. easy to learn OS. 3. Great battery life. I was able to squeeze out about 14 hours with browsing and typing documents while playing songs on youtube. 4. love the keyboard and trackpad. extremely responsive. better than my HP envy. 5. WIFI card used is great. I am able to fully utilize the 5ghz band at its full potential with significant range. Cons: 1. storage: 128 GB is too low for the price point. getting a higher storage model $200+ more expensive depending on sale. 2. lack of customization: Non upgradable RAM and storage is a killer. At least if we were given the option to upgrade storage ourself it would have been better. All in all its a well built machine that surpasses most windows PCs. 4 stars due to the low storage and lack of customization

Awesome laptop for college students!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my second year of college after trudging through my freshman year with a cheap HP laptop that ended up not working so well. Bought this & I totally love it. It's a fast, beautiful, lightweight laptop perfect for college students or anyone on the go!

So glad I made the switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been reluctant to switch from a PC to a Mac; however, now that I've done it I am so thankful. The MacBook Pro is easy to use and has all the features necessary to operate like a PC. Excellent product, easy to use, fast processing, lightweight... I love it!

Excellent Computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best computers around. I am a big fan of Macs. I had the regular MacBook Pro before upgrading to the MacBook Pro with Retina. The computer is very fast and the screen is amazing. It weighs lighter than the regular MacBook Pro which is a plus.

Loving it so far.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, I am loving my Mac Book Pro. I haven't touched the other laptop since buying this Mac. It is fast, love the size, love the retina display. I hope it lasts me a long time. Still getting used to how to do things on it. There is a slight learning curve.

MacBook Pro-a great machine!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a recording musician since age 15 and I love the MacBook Pro! Garageband is my main reason for getting this. I hadn't updated my old white MacBook for about 8 years...definitely needed an upgrade!I chose the 13 inch retina display and wow! Looks stunning! Great detail. I got the i5 processor...very speedy. Opens apps/files with ease. There's NO cd/dvd drive in this..just to let you know. You'll have to buy an external drive or transfer files and burn them elsewhere. There are 2 usb ports on this...an HDMI slot, and a large(to micro) sd card reader. Very thin overeall, not quite an Air but good enough. It boots up really fast...under 10 seconds, I would say.a noticeable improvement over my other Mac, though it was a workhorse too! Overall, I would say this Mac is faster, sleeker, and more efficient! Props to Best Buy for an extra $150.00 off this bad boy! Saved me a trip to the Pasadena Apple Store! Don't think about it...just do it! Buy it...you know you wanna!

Best computer i've ever owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is lighting fast, super reliable, and very easy to use. Would recommend buying the small hard drive and getting a 1tb external drive to save money. they only cost around $50 and you can store all your movies or music on them with ease.

Light and powerful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 13" MBP has enough processing power to handle Adobe CC without lagging; definitely better performance than a regular MacBook or an Air. Its lightweight easy to take from meeting to meeting. Despite its smaller form factor, the keyboard does not feel small, and it has a beautiful 13" Retina display. I could probably use a little more memory if I was to work more with 4K video files, but it sufficient for my daily needs.
