Compact and powerful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of being put off by the high price of macbook pros I finally pulled the trigger when Best Buy offered it for nearly 20 percent off. The machine performs exactly how so many people have told me over the years, "it just works". My PCs have always had issues connecting to my network printers, not the mac, it just works. My PCs need rebooting often, not the mac, it just works. The list goes on, but the bottom line is there is a reason that so many are loyal to Apple products, because they just work and work well. I am still a little irritated how expensive apple products are and that you cannot perform self upgrades on anything anymore, but I have my foot in the door and I'm happy with it.

Excellent all-around workhorse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 2015 Retina MacBook Pro is a great all-around computer that fits every lifestyle - student, commuting businessman, small-business owner, you name it! The screen is gorgeous, and the addition of Force Touch on the trackpad opens the computer up for a host of potential useful upgrades in the future with the added bonus of reducing moving parts inside the computer itself. If you're set on purchasing a 13" laptop today, this is the way to go!

Wow, new to MAC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the MBP now for one week. Have been a PC user up to now so there is a bit of a learning curve. My old laptop took forever to spool up. Looked at the new PC and did not like the windows 8 interface or trackpads. This is blazing fast. 7 seconds to start. I go to the local BB class tonight but it is all pretty intuitive. Using track pad is easy. May not even get a mouse. Only problem so far was one time after waking from sleep mode the cursor would not react. ,rebooted and then it was fine since. 4 star only because the price. I did get the 4th of July sale which was the best price I have seen so far. The staff at BB were great. I have been looking for months to decide which laptop I wanted. They were patient and I learned a lot about PC and MAC in the process. This may weigh a few more ounces than the MBAir but love the retina screen.

Always an Apple!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been looking at the MacBook Pro for quite some time and thought I would get a deal on it at Apple during "Black Friday" sales. No deal was available there, so I searched further and found this one at Best Buy for a great price! Wasn't difficult to set up and everything seems to working fine. Just need to become more familiar with the newer OSX system.

So far so good...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never been great at functioning anything made by Apple, so take it from me when I say it is not hard to learn. Just sit down with the computer for an hour, look up some common keyboard and mousepad functions and shortcuts, and then you are good to go. I love that this laptop does not get nearly as hot as any Windows computer that I have every owned.

Best laptop i have had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been my 3rd laptop in 6 years, and it's hands down the best. My other laptops were PC windows but the mac is so much user interface is alot cleaner and looks nicer. The commands and shortcuts need a little time to adjust but the performance of this laptop is great! Not much of a gaming laptop, but it will run very mediocre games with ease.

Great Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is amazing. I was a little hesitant going from the 15.4 inch Macbook Pro to the 13.3 inch, but I don't have any regrets. Since I've had the computer it has been no slouch and has been performing amazing. I do some video/photo editing and I haven't experienced any freezes or crashes. Would definitely buy this again.

Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are no other words to describe this than "love it". My husband got this after his MacBook Air would not turn on, after owning it less than 11 hours. This laptop beats any other laptop we own. He uses it for both his job and leisure. The speed is incredible. We will never go back to non-Apple products.

Love my MacBook!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After being a longtime PC user, I decided to make the switch to the MacBook Pro, and I LOVE IT! It's easy to use; set up is easy, right out of the box. I have the iPhone 6 and iPad mini so it makes since that I use Apple for my computer needs. I've had this for a month now and don't plan on going back to PC.

Timeless piece of technology
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my MacBook Pro for 7 months now, and can easily say I have used it every single day. And it has been amazing. There have been periods of times, ranging in weeks, that I have not turned the computer off, and just closed the lid. After a while, it does begin to get a bit glitchy and laggy, but I still wouldn't take any stars away, simply restarting it and letting it cool down for a few minutes and its right back at it. It has been rock solid and done everything I've asked, from editing minor videos, to being the work horse of my mobile office (mobile printers and scanners etc..). At times, you will have problems trying to find software that works with the computer. BUT THIS IS SOMETHING YOU MUST UNDERSTAND BEFORE BUYING ANY APPLE PRODUCT. Or you will be disappointed. If you plan on using this for a mobile office, go ahead and tie in the price of Microsoft Office, and download it. It's worth it. I have had times when I've sent my resume to a company, or tried to upload it to certain websites, and it wouldn't recognize or open Apple Pages. When it comes to comparing it to the new MacBook Pro, this model does seem a lot more clunky and a bit heavier. But I prefer having all my ports, and I like the keyboard a bit better than the new butterfly keys the new MacBooks have. What surprises me, is the fact the price didn't go down. These are the same exact prices, when these were Apples' flagship MacBooks. And I haven't seen anyone point this out yet. The new MacBook Pros should be this price, and these models should have dropped a couple hundred bucks. But still yet, these ones are "cheaper," and they are great machines. Even after looking and using the new MacBook Pros, when it comes to tying in the price and the missing ports, this is the better deal by far. you may not look the coolest at the local coffee shop without the new touch bar, but you'll be just fine. This is still a beautifully machined computer, and is challenged by no other than its newest version. Also, the screen is amazing. The retina screen plays beautifully crisp 4K videos, and your pictures and home videos are as vibrant as ever. I highly recommend this MacBook Pro.

Super fast and Easy to Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is AWESOME! (other than the price) This is my first mac and I feel like I just stepped out of the industrial revolution into the modern 21st century. Other than being super fast and having amazing graphics it is extremely light weight and durable. I love this computer!

What you expect from a Mac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Personally, I'm not a Mac user, but the person that was gifted this unit is loving it. I'm not thrilled about the lack of a CD/DVD drive but it's not a huge drawback. Overall, the OS (even though it hasn't received rave reviews, El Capitan) seems to operate smoothly and the battery life is what you've come to expect of a Mac laptop (great!). I'm almost tempted to get one for myself. Overall, you're paying for a Mac. IMO, they've always been overpriced but they do get things right.

The Gold Standard for Laptops
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the MacBook Pro for about 6 months now and definitely sets the bar for what a laptop/notebook should be. The 13 inch model is a great combination of size and portability, however I sometimes wish I had the 15 inch model for the extra real estate. Most of my time is spent writing code on this machine and there are times when I wish I had the extra screen real estate. The keyboard is great and has solid travel. The Forcetouch trackpad is awesome. I've gotten use to the haptic feedback click of the Forcetouch trackpad and when I tried using a trackpad that didn't have it, it felt strange. With the Forcetouch trackpad, you don't have to find a certain sweet spot for where to click. You can basically press down anywhere on the trackpad to click and it works. The Retina display is excellent and it's definitely hard to go back to a non-Retina display once you've been spoiled by high resolution displays. The only thing I've noticed is that the chassis sort of creaks a little when I put weight down where I rest my palms when typing. Not really a big deal but it does bother me from time to time. It's not enough to kill the MacBook Pro experience but I thought I'd mention it in my observations.
