Mac newbie here. Coming from Windows 10 Core I7/SSD laptop. The MBP hardware runs cooler and quicker (with I5 cpu) than my previous laptop. This machine is running El Capitan OS, have had zero problems with OS. Installed Windows 10 under Bootcamp for Visual Studio 2012 and Nero (video editing), both run without hiccups. The Apple services (mail, calendar, etc) integrate well with iPad and iPhone. Have had some problems integrating Apple and Microsoft Office 365 services. Added a couple Apple accessories; Thunderbolt to Ethernet and Magic Mouse 2. These devices connected without setup problems and "just work", even under Windows 10/Bootcamp. The 256gb storage is perfect for my purposes. I am using a WD myCloud NAS for bulk storage of videos.

No windows computer runs as smooth as this macbook

Best Buy had that MBP on sale for just $1299 with an additional $50 student discount! I quickly returned the MacBook Air i had just bought and figured the extra 4GB of ram, extra 128GB of space, Retina Display and faster processor were well worth the extra $450. Even if you aren't a gamer/photo/video editor, or just aren't a "power" user in general; you WILL appreciate the Retina Display and amazing speakers!

It really is a great computer. I could no longer use windows computers they frustrate me with the constant updates and reliability issues. Originally i purchased the 128gb model but with the 256 on sale and a 100 dollar off student discount i thought it would be better just to get the 256.

I bought this computer a couple months ago to take with me to college and I love it! This is my first Apple computer and it's really easy to use; the staff in the Apple center in the store were really helpful, and I would absolutely buy it again!

Why I gave it 4 stars, because it is fast to get warm and become hot when I used camera call in Facebook. Besides that everything excellent and fast. I recommended. This is I compared to my 5 years old HP and toshiba, each of them I used all day everyday nothing feel warm. This is my first time try MacBook Pro.

I use this computer all the time, I love having it it is lite with great clear screen and long batter life on it.

I was fortunate to purchase my MacBook Pro during a sale, which brought the price down to a little over $1300 with tax. I had a MacBook from 2008 and was in dire need of an upgrade. So happy I decided on the MacBook Pro vs the Air or new MacBooks. For what you're spending, the MacBook Pro definitely has all the features and memory worth investing in. Obviously it really depends what you're using your laptop for, but I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

I am a college student and I needed a powerful laptop to keep up with my classes and life. I use my Macbook Pro for notes, videos, and studying. The display is phenomenal and the look is very sleek, and professional. I would recommend this laptop to anyone, especially college students.

I have this model and purchased this one for my daughter. Perfect size, weight, functionality.

Used to be a pc guy, built them for years. Once I invested into macbook pro, it was totally worth the money. These are solid machines easy to use and even have a high resale value in case you want to upgrade down the road. I purchased this for my business and the other 2 were for the kids school.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. I bought Macbook pro retina with 250 $ discount. If you want to buy apple products buy it from Best Buy.

I was very hesitant at first! But I do love my MacBook. There are some files I can't open but there are a lot of conversion apps out there.

I love everything about my make Im just sad someone stole it and Bestbuy does not have a lost or theft service for me to replace it.

i was using windows operating systems since 7 years they are very slow.they dont handle complicated fastly.They take too much time to process,but this macbook are very fast.The graphics sre very good.im lucky that i bought macbook pro.i thank best buy for giving me a discount.I appreciate you guys and you guys are very helpful.

Apple has been making superior products for years. No over the top bells and whistles. Just clean, mean, streamlined design. Designed to work and last many years. This Retina display is just amazing whether I'm watching movies, browsing the web, or just typing a document. Would recommend to any student, business, or home use.

My son loves his macbook pro. We bought it for him for school since his old laptop (mac) was not working very well. He put a ton of music on it and still has enough room for all of his school work and projects. We had to buy the office products separately (word and excel) for school.

Thanks to Best Buy for offering this in a great deal. I bought this in one of the flash deals they keep for 4 hours.
