I've been using the same desktop for the last several years (also a mac) and this laptop just blows it away. The solid state drive is wonderfully fast. The only drawback is that the drive is a little small, but nothing that I can't deal with by using an external. One of my problems with mac is that they've been making it increasingly difficult to upgrade their computers. This is the first computer I've ever bought where I didn't purchase after-market upgrades to install the moment I opened it. The 8Gb of RAM is plenty for the kind of software I run (including logic pro and final cut). Fortunately, If you want to upgrade to a larger SSD, they still make it possible for you to do that. Right now, it doesn't cost any less to upgrade through a third party than through Apple though, but I expect that will change. No, there's no CD drive. I needed one, so I found an external for under thirty bucks. I almost never need one when I'm on the go, so I'm happy to have a computer that saves some space and weight by losing it. I love the feel of the keyboard. More to my taste than the new "butterfly" keyboard on the macbook retina and rumored to be on the next gen of macbook pros. You'll just have to try it and compare. No hiding the fact that Apple stuff comes at a premium, but with their relative imperviousness to viruses, long life span, and solid build, I think it's well worth it. I expect to get a good 7 years out of this computer before I even think about upgrading.

It's a great laptop for doing homework, I've only had t for a couple of months now but it was extremely easy to learn how to use it even if one has no experience with macs.

i had the MacBook Pro 15 inch 2011 model. That was amazing but now I got this one as an upgrade and it is just amazing how clear the screen is. 100% happy with this purchase

I bought this for my self to replace a 15" MacBook Pro which I gave to my son. I downsized to this 13" which is much lighter which I like, However I went from a 500 gig hard drive to a 256 gig flash drive and lost the disc burner. I like that the flash drive is supposed to be faster and more reliable.I would have liked to had the 15" with the 512 gig flash drive but the cost difference was too great.

I had windows laptop and it was getting slower. I got this macbook and I am completely satisfied for buying this. I will not go back to MS windows system.

nice compact computer, can take it any where. easy to use as soon as you get used to apple formate. yes I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN.

This is my second MacBook Pro in the past 8 years! Great product as always. Easy to use. This MacBook Pro is much slimmer and lighter weight than the original one I had.

Bought the MacBook Pro with Retina display (2015) for my sister's graduation gift. She loves it and has had no complaints about it since. Crisp visuals and responsiveness.

I admit I'm an Apple fan boy but I use Windows PC and Android phones as well. With that said I love the Macbook Pro because they have excellent battery life and just work.

Apple products never disappoint. This laptop is fast and very easy to use. I was a pc user for a very long time and made the switch to apple and couldn't be happier! There was a slight learning curve to get the hang of it but after a few days it was a breeze. Apple products seamlessly connect with one another to make your user experience a real pleasure to use!! Go apple! You will not regret it!!

This is the first MacBook that I've owned. I've been a PC guy my entire life. I'm not going back! The speed and the versatility of the iOS platform is out of this world.

This is my fourth Mac book and I continue to be a MacBook supporter. I decided on the MacBook Pro because I wanted the traditional USB ports. I'm not ready for the New port yet as the reviews are mixed. I'm very happy with my purchase- the speed, the quality of the screen, and the easy transfer of my files from my old Mac to my new one with just a few online instructions. No complaints here.

Have always used windows products...except for iPhones. Impressed with the ease of set up and clarity of screen. My daughter does not have difficulty getting software

I bought this computer for school and I've loved it since day one. It's fast, able to keep up with multiple applications running at once, and aesthetically pleasing.

I bought the macbook pro 256 gb for school. I figured if i was going to invest in a computer for the next several years I would choose one that consistently got great reviews. I chose the 256gb to make sure I would have enough to storage to last me. Previously I had a toshiba that I had purchased when I graduated in 2008. (I went through 2 hard drives in this computer.) This computer is quite the upgrade. Although there is a slight learning curve, I am always learning new tips and tricks and and am more and more satisfied with my purchase. Though this computer was expensive, I do not regret this purchase.

I have all Mac computers in my house and business it is so easy to operate and the slim line and light weight of it makes it easy for me to travel with it everywhere.

Got the 256GB Model. Fast boot. Brilliant display. Keyboard feels good. Cheapest on the market with the college discount.

Like most Apple products this computer is so well made. Upgraded from my 2011 MacBook Pro and the speed is fantastic. I can now use continuity with my iPhone and iPad.
