We have always owned non-Apple laptops and we use the Windows laptops at work. They have suited us well, but always need to be replaced within three years----they just aren't built for longer. We resisted a Mac Book Pro because the price point is higher. When we did the research, the Mac Book Pro also tends to last 2-3 times as long as a non-Apple laptop. We bought two and love them.

Macs are expensive, but I got this for a discount. Great laptop and display.

Unless you are doing heavy gaming or running very complicated programs, this laptop is capable of handling anything a college student needs. Retina display is perfect to read journals and papers. Also to work on microsoft office documents.

My six year old MacBook simply did not cut it. The MacBook Pro Retina is fantastic. Boot time is almost instant and the display is incredible. Maybe I'm too old school to do everything on my iPad. Having a full service laptop with ports, keyboard and available external DVD reader/writer beats any tablet.

I recently purchased a new MacPro. My old one was getting a bit long in the tooth so I upgraded and gave it to my grandchildren who are now using it. The new MacPro is everything I expected from Apple. I love the new sleeker and lighter frame and the connectivity is greatly improved. I also like that the computer comes loaded leaving no software to purchase. Happy MacPro user.

This is my first Apple and after researching decided that the new MacBook Pro with 256GB Flash Storage and 8GB of Memory was the right system for me to use at College --- and since I'm also an iPhone owner I thought ---- with my not liking Windows 10 --- I may as well drop out of the Microsoft world.

I bought this same laptop for work and after 6 months I went and got another one for my wife. I highly recommend any Apple product over the competition due to the superior anti-virus safety features and its performance. As for the price, I had 3 other apple laptop users tell me that they have had their same laptop for 10 years and it works just as good as the day they purchased it.
