I actually purchased two of these; one for my daughter who writes and edits books for herself and her friends and one for my son who uses it for running film editing software he had purchased. Both of them are delighted with their gifts and are rarely more than a couple of feet away from them during their leisure time.

Overall great machine. Although I'm in Florida where it's humid and since Im on machine #4 in a matter of 3 months. Macs shouldn't be sold in this state. I'm convinced it's the humidity that tanks the computer. Thank god I bought the protection plan.

This is the first mac I have ever owned. I had a little trouble setting up my email. I made an appointment with a tech at the apple store and they were wonderful. I recommend doing this. He showed me how to use the superdrive also. It is so simple to transfer all my cd's now. The battery life of this laptop is great. It is a beautiful computer (laptop),

I love my Mac Laptop. It is a change from the standard computer, but it works perfectly. I can sync my phone & tablet. It is GREAT!!!!

Use Mac for home entertainment and use PC side for work related tasks which consists of ms office and cad programs. No gaming on this computer but it could handle it. Retina is nice for those who need more real estate to work.
