    This charger and the model after have a design flaw that causes the wire headed to the computer to fray. The frayed wire caused me to have to urgently seek a replacement for my 2014 MacBook Pro. Neither Best Buy nor the Apple store had the correct model in stock. However, the Apple store had an adapter that allowed me to use the prior version. It works fine with the adaptor. Don't know whether the problem has been fixed for the USB charger version

    I bought this charger to replace my 5-year old one that doesn't work anymore. Works perfectly fine, just wish it didn't cost so much.
