Before purchasing a charger online I thought I'd give best buy a visit and I saw this 60W charger it did its job but the price tag on this is just crazy, so I went on Amazon and found 2 chargers for half of what this charger got me. All in all Best Buy still has its quality products and I'll still be coming as a customer but just going to shop wisely.

This is my 3rd charger for my Mac Book Pro in a year and a half. It is way to expensive to replace but I have no choice. I don't hardly bend the core and the plastic begins to fray. Apple needs to build a better power cord if it is going to represent their brand especially for $80! I have no choice but to recommend this cord because you need it.

I bought this as an extra charger for a room that I don't use my computer in very often. When I am in that room, I spend more time on the computer than my battery would last. It was a pain to have to move my original charger back and forth from room to room because furniture would have to be moved to access the plug. This extra charger solved my problem.

Apple as usual delivering on product design and performance with its innovative magnetic charging design. Unfortunately, the power cable only lasted 2 years. The computer is running flawlessly as usual. Genius bar provided excellent support and knowledge and actually offered a discount if you buy from them after diagnosis but I went with best buy.

The original charging cord for my macbook pro became frayed at the connecting port, or whatever it's called, so I needed to purchase a replacement. The BB price was comparable to The Apple Store price, maybe even a few dollars or cents cheaper. I've been using the new charger for several months and it continues to charge just fine ... hopefully it will last as long as the original lasted! :)

Works perfectly! Why buy a brand new one when you can buy an open box for cheaper! Check out was smooth and the pick-up was super easy as well.

Best to go with OEM products for such expensive equipment but be careful and make sure which connector you need. I bought the wrong one and quote frankly, it is super confusing to know if you need MagSafe or MagSafe2 because the models are so close to each other

i bought this because i lost original one, its work best but a little bit expensive

I have a 2009 Macbook Pro 5,5 which has the older style MagSafe Power adaptor. The laptop originally came with what looks like square connector ,this new adapter has a small cylinder connector which is rather small, this does not detract from the usage of the product by any means. The connector just sits more recessed into the laptop than the original which makes for an awkward connection at times.

Apple is doing a stellar job of cornering their customers as far as replacement cables/cords go. No real, viable aftermarket products for charging and their product is the same quality, or lack of quality, as the iPhone charging/sync cables and the iPhone headphones. The cable sleeves pull apart from the block and connecting ends. The cables tear if they are kinked, creating a short. Apple needs to revise their design for All cables and cords. On a positive note, the MagSafe connection is a great safety feature. I'm looking to be spending $80 a year to replace the power cord for my MacBook pro and for such an expensive computer, that is completely unacceptable.

As others have mentioned, this product seems to have a maximum lifespan of about a year, if you're lucky. I've gone through three in the last year - that's $240. I'm not particularly hard on my computer or my charger, so I really don't understand why it doesn't last longer than it does. If these power adapters cost $20, I wouldn't complain, but they're $80. I came on here to complain solely because I just had yet another adapter go out on me and I'm now thinking about biting the bullet and just purchasing a cheap Windows computer rather than buying yet another $80 power adapter. Very frustrating.
