necessary substitute

I held out on buying for a long time, but my former adapter was on its last bit of life. The cord first was frayed for a couple inches, which I bound with electrical tape. But then it kept fraying beyond the bounds more and more. Eventually, I decided to buy this one through Best Buy because I had gift cards. Now, I am very careful with my chargers and use the extender as well.
