Unfortunately, it costs quite a bit for a power cord, and there are no generic products or products made by other manufacturers that can be used with Apple laptops. And the cords start to fray every couple of years, necessitating the purchase of a new power cord. I like this because I need it and it does its job. The technology that disconnects the connector piece easily when yanked is great, as it protects the parts inside the laptop.
