Bought a "knock off" cord new off of craigslist, it was worthless didn't charge properly -didn't last- maybe 3 weeks. It looked just like the Apple one! Now I forked out the money to go with the Apple brand one plus the money i lost buying the one that was garbage off craigslist. I recommend buying the Apple cord. Our original Apple cord damaged by our cat:( but it lasted 3+ years.

I like the detachable extension cord. That way it is easier to use other countries extension chords adaptable to Mac. The charger is expensive so it would not make sense to buy one for every country you travel in. Another thing is that you get extra length which works great if you are charging the device at the airport

Of course it is great. It is that exact spec Apple replacement part. Of course it is ridiculously expensive, but if I spend half and it fails I get nothing. I went for the sure thing because all the cheaper knock offs have failures and run hot. Burn my house down to save 40 bucks? Nope. The key is not to let your younger children chew on the cord so you don't need a new one anyway :-)

My old macbook charger ripped and started to smoke so I was forced to get a new one. I went back and forth on buying the generic over the Apple charger and after reading a bunch of bad reviews on the generic I decided to go ahead and buy the Apple brand. Cost a pretty penny for a charger but it is what it is. It has been working well. No complaints.

When it comes to Caring for your APPLE make sure that you only use Apple cords and chargers. This way you not only insure having the longest life your Apple product has to offer but also the best performance it has to offer! Had to replace my MagSafe - it was literally sparking at the joint where the cord casing met the battery joint housing. This was an 'open box' product, but it is perfect. Heavier joints, thicker casing and much better quality than the one I replaced. Very very happy.

Not a very exciting purchase, but a definitely needed one! I love Apple products but think their accessories are poorly designed and break quite easily - at least all chargers for the various products we have had and to replace them is not cheap! That being said, we needed a new charger - don't know that it should have be $75.00 but what are you going to do? Buy a new computer?

this cord work perfect for my MacBook after I lost mine

So pleased to find exactly what I needed when my daughters macbook charger would not changer her computer - when a lot of college work was due that week. The Best Buy employee was very helpful in showing me I needed the new 'plug in' to work with her computer. That would have been stressful to get home and still need another piece to get it changed.
