I use this mainly as a stylist. The one feature I don't like is that it constantly has to be paired with the iPad in order to work. I do like the fact that I can charge the pencil from the iPad,

I have been waiting a long time for Apple to make this product. They produced exactly what I wanted - a direct draw, pressure sensitive stylus tool that can keep up with me. I have wanted other direct draw tables but they were usually far too expensive or not really portable. The Apple Pencil and the iPad Pro deliver natural drawing, a larger but portable size, smooth operation and all the good things about an iPad. I hope Apple produces other tool type - that is the only improvement possible.

Super Slick, very responsive, easy to connect and very comfortable to hold

While the pairing is a little clunky, it works fantastically. This opens up a whole new area in drawing.

I bought this along with a 7th gen ipad and keyboard on sale for just under $500. I didn’t think I would get much out of it, but with free drawing apps, I tried my shot at digital art and was very pleased. Beyond that, navigating ipad OS is just more fun with the pencil. If you’re getting an Ipad and you want to take it more seriously than just a netflix device, the pencil is a worthy addition.

Bought it for my little sister as a birthday gift. She loves it. Works well with the new ipad 10th generation. Just need to get the usbc adapter if you get this pencil. They did come out with the 1st gen pencil that already comes with the usbs adapter.

The pencil definitely makes life much easier when using the iPad. Would I pay $100 for it? No! But, if you can get it on sale then it's definitely worth it.

Without the Apple Pencil, the iPad Pro is just an iPad. The Apple Pencil is so natural and intuitive that... it really takes the iPad experience to a whole different level. Draw, jot, take notes, prepare schemes, navigate, scroll. I did not have huge expectations, but now I realize that I cannot use the iPad without it. On the downside, it is really pricey - like everything else with an Apple logo. P.S. you also really need a case holder or something to hold the pencil close to the iPad.

I see some people complaining about battery life. I have not had any problem. Keep in mind that it goes to sleep, when not in use. However, if you move the pencil it wakes up and stays awake until it thinks you’re done with it. Also, if you happen to find your pencil is out of charge, you simply plug it into your iPad for a few minutes and you’re good to go. I’ve used other tablets with other pencil like devices and this is by far the best I have used.

Really nice to use and very handy. Does everything and is lightweight!

This thing is awesome. Only downside: the magnetic cap that covers the lightning charger is easy to lose. Lost it two weeks in. Apple doesn’t have them on the market to just chose one and buy it, which is also an issue. I did get a replacement from Apple after some persistence with their support people. I’ve made some paper covers to use in situations where it might get lost. Still love the function of the pencil for note-taking and mark-ups on the go.

Over the years, I've been trying stylus after stylus but nothing really worked well enough for me to use it regularly to take notes. I finally decided to invest in an Apple pencil and I'm glad I did! It feels comfortable--just like writing with pen and paper--maybe smoother since I'm writing on glass. I can rest my hand on the screen and it works just fine! I use it mainly to take notes and draw diagrams. Now I'm going to explore drawing and painting!!
