If you have an iPad Pro, I recommend you pair it with an apple pen. Only problem is the price tag is ridiculous. I give it 3 stars mostly for the price tag and 3 stars because it works great like an actual pencil on the screen but the price tag is outrageous. If it didn’t work good I would give it 1 star but since it works great I give it 3. Would give 5 stars if price was reasonable

To be honest, I was skeptical about the Apple Pencil. I played with it in the store and thought it would be fun to use, so I bought it without giving it much thought. The pencil has really made a positive difference in how I work with my iPad. It's really amazing how the iPad can decipher and translate your chicken scratch - definitely recommend.

We got the Apple Pencil to edit graphics on 9th gen iPad. The pencil works with a great precision and little difficulty. there might be cheaper high quality pencils out there but we got this on sale. Good deal for an apple brand

Excellent tool with only one flaw... The cap at the top of the pencil (which conceals the charger end of the pencil) can easily get lost. I bought a separate silicone piece for a few bucks, that keeps the cap attached to the pencil when charging. Other than that, that’s pencil really helps save your fingertips from numbness!

I bought this item just to have it with my iPad. I don’t really do much drawing or coloring, but it’s cool to have. I really don’t use it much at all, but I have when or if I do want to use it. Maybe my job will change and it will be something of an essence. Then I want have to go buy it I will already have it.

The only downside is there are not enough apps that are pencil specific or at least that aren’t free. But the good is that on apps when used is great. I’m surprised at how smooth it is and how the transition of motion to the iPad is spot on. Easy to charge just a bit long for pockets. I love this thing.

I like this. It plugs into my iPad 8th Generation. It was a bit of money to spend, but it has been helpful to have when I do artsy things on Procreate or take notes with the Good Notes app. The fast charge is also a plus.

If you plan to purchase a new iPad Pro I highly recommend you purchase the Apple Pencil. It provides a precise stylus tip for any "drag and drop" commands and tremendous unity and versatility when used as a drawing tool. The Apple Pencil behaves like a pen or lead pencil in that the stroke you can produce becomes heavier when you use more downward pressure and it becomes lighter and finer when you apply less pressure. The Apple Pencil pairs easily with the iPad by simply plugging it into the iPad's lightning port. The only downside is that the Apple Pencil is a bit thicker around than a standard pencil, and perhaps a bit heavier too. This could make it more difficult for a child to hold the device and I mention that because one of the main reasons I purchased the Apple Pencil was to use it with Apps that teach children to draw / write letters and numerals. This is accomplished by having the child trace, using the Apple Pencil, over an outline of the desired alphanumeric character as displayed by one of these learning Apps. I think a lighter, thinner design would make it easier for a child to do this. Otherwise, I highly recommend the Apple Pencil.

Not sure why it took so long for Apple to develop this - it makes using the iPad significantly easier and more comfortable, especially with the digital art apps. The battery life is excellent, and it's very easily stored in the protective cover I bought online that has a slot for it.

The Apple Pencil is the Cadillac of styluses. It fills great in my hand, and reacts the way a real pencil and paper would. I'm a door to door salesman and I use it every day getting signatures from customers and they love how it feels and that they can actually read their autograph! I put it at three stars because at 99 bucks it's uses are somewhat limited. However it is an apple product so the price is to be expected.

Hello, little friend. You feel remarkably similar to a pen or pencil. I bought you on the recommendation of several trusted cartoonist pals. I am having fun using you, and am glad I bought the case with built in pencil holder so as to avoid losing you!

If you do any sort of art or graphics work, buy this. I find myself using it for most things I do on the iPad, even writing meetings notes in my handwriting versus typing them out. This plus the numerous drawing and art related aps make the apple pencil a no brainer. Buy it
