    A "must-have" accessory

If you plan to purchase a new iPad Pro I highly recommend you purchase the Apple Pencil. It provides a precise stylus tip for any "drag and drop" commands and tremendous unity and versatility when used as a drawing tool. The Apple Pencil behaves like a pen or lead pencil in that the stroke you can produce becomes heavier when you use more downward pressure and it becomes lighter and finer when you apply less pressure. The Apple Pencil pairs easily with the iPad by simply plugging it into the iPad's lightning port. The only downside is that the Apple Pencil is a bit thicker around than a standard pencil, and perhaps a bit heavier too. This could make it more difficult for a child to hold the device and I mention that because one of the main reasons I purchased the Apple Pencil was to use it with Apps that teach children to draw / write letters and numerals. This is accomplished by having the child trace, using the Apple Pencil, over an outline of the desired alphanumeric character as displayed by one of these learning Apps. I think a lighter, thinner design would make it easier for a child to do this. Otherwise, I highly recommend the Apple Pencil.

I bought this item just to have it with my iPad. I don’t really do much drawing or coloring, but it’s cool to have. I really don’t use it much at all, but I have when or if I do want to use it. Maybe my job will change and it will be something of an essence. Then I want have to go buy it I will already have it.

The apple pen works nicely. No effort with writing and drawing. I actually allow my children to practice writing their alphabets. There are many apps for the apple pen. The battery standby life is poor. And to charge it it requires a special adapter but do not worry it comes with it. But why. If it gets lost its a nuisance to replace and the reason I purchased a case to hold it and its accessories. 100 dollars is a bit on the high side but it certainly beats, by far, the pen for the surface pro.

The only downside is there are not enough apps that are pencil specific or at least that aren’t free. But the good is that on apps when used is great. I’m surprised at how smooth it is and how the transition of motion to the iPad is spot on. Easy to charge just a bit long for pockets. I love this thing.

Pretty good Apple Pencil. I also have the Apple Pencil 2 for my iPad Pro which is better but you can’t use the 2 on the iPad 10.2 inch. That’s where this first gen Apple Pencil comes in handy. The thing I’m not a fan of is that you have to plug the pencil in the lighting port in the iPad to charge it. Besides that, it does what it’s intended to do very well.

I was hesitant at first spending this much for the ipencil. It is great for clicking fine detail that my fingers can't do easily. To me it is worth the expense. The only draw back is the cap that covers the male charging end. To eliminate the chance of losing it I purchased the finite kit from Amazon that holds the cap and has a tip protector.

The integration of the Apple Pencil with the iPad Pro is incredible. To be able to apply pressure to make harder lines like you would with an actual pencil is great. The speed and response while writing with the pencil is excellent as well. Some cons in my opinion are that the pencil is the white piano finish plastic which makes it slide out of dry hands quickly, it is round and can roll off tables, and the iPad Pro cases from Apple have no way of attaching the pencil to the iPad Pro.

I had bought a surface so I could go paperless where note taking was concerned but ran into many issues with it registering my hand and the pen. I didn’t expect the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to work as well as it does but it, for me, has been flawless. I use it with the good notes app and one note and again it is a perfect setup.

The clerk was extremely helpful and was able to help me select the right option. It works great! I tried a couple of less expensive, non-Apple products, but as they say, you get what you pay for … they were not worth the savings!

Not sure why it took so long for Apple to develop this - it makes using the iPad significantly easier and more comfortable, especially with the digital art apps. The battery life is excellent, and it's very easily stored in the protective cover I bought online that has a slot for it.

I got this because I like to design tattoos and this Apple Pencil has made it really easy and economical so I don't waste paper and pencils after much erasing and screw ups. The only flaw is the battery life is kinda short but it does charge fast and I hate that the charging port is detachable so you really have to keep track of the tiny little piece. I think a flip up top thing would have been better so you just plug your regular charger into the top of the pen. But I love the pencil!
