Purchased this along with new iPad for my daughter for college. She can download her books and use this to take notes in class along with highlighting notes in the book and in review sessions.

Despite the issues and negative reviews I really wanted to try out the first generation pencil. It works well for dreaming and also photo editing. Battery life is good for the size of the pencil. Connection was quick and easy.

OK, OK, so I had to have the iPad Pro - but who knew how the Apple Pencil would add to the usability of the pad!! It is unbelievable!! Responsive, feels like a pencil, quick charge via USB port - truly makes for an all around experience!! I love it! Wow!!

Apple does it again, with the Apple Pencil, I work with companies that mail me contracts and use apps like DocuSign or SignNow and this pencil has made signing anything that much easier. Even taking notes for medical classes are easier now!

I use my iPad for school. Ever since I got the Apple Pencil, I’ve taken notes on my iPad and let me tell it’s been great. No more hustling in class for new note paper and no more being worried about getting more lead for my mechanical pencil.

My daughter uses it more than expected. You can use it with certain apps or simply in lieu of your finger. It’s expensive, but I would recommend. FYI, you’ll definitely lose the cap, but there are inexpensive alternatives that stay connected to the pen on Amazon.

Can't get better for pen/pencil for school

As a current college student, I have run trials on the Microsoft Surface pen, Apple Pencil, and even a generic stylus, and without a doubt when it comes to the fluidity writing and sketching with an electronic device the Apple Pencil is unprecedentedly superior. Although the Microsoft Surface pen is wonderful with different functions and options, the Apple Pencil get the bread and butter right, the writing. I feel like I am writing with a normal pen in my hand when I use the Apple Pencil, it responds to my pressure and angle of writing to a "T". The only negative aspect, which is minuscule, is the battery. Being able to charge the pencil through my iPad or iPhone is clutch, but having to do that twice, sometimes, three times a day is annoying, but as I stated earlier, minuscule.

Works exceptionally well if your iPad is listed as compatible. There is no stylus for Apple devices that compares to the two generations of Apple Pencil. The price is extraordinarily high, but it enables you to place your wrist on the screen for balance like a piece of paper, which is great for preventing writing fatigue, and improving the stability of your writing. The charging solution on the 1st generation is dumb, and the 2nd generation is not available for my iPad. Interestingly, the package includes a lightning male to male adapter to allow the device to charge from wall power. For some reason, this adapter is very funny to me.

I was not interested in the pencil until my friend suggested I needed to try. I absolutely love this and would recommend this to everyone. Every time time I use I learn something new.

I originally bought my ipad for music, video, social media and stuff like that. Then Coronavirus shut down life as we know it. I went to teaching from my office at home to my students. I used my Macbooks and then switched to my iPad. Wow, what a difference. Then I noticed that I was writing a lot on my screen with my fingers. I went to a style, which was great. However, it stuck once in a while. After getting the Pencil, my writing is much more natural on my iPad. I've been able to sign PDF's as well with something that actually resembles my signature, which was an unexpected bonus. I did end up getting a different case for it that included an Apple Pencil holder but I absolutely love this thing.

I bought this for my wife who is a teacher. She uses this instead of paper and pencil with her display for teaching daily and is now able to eliminate half her work and can snap shot her notes to save for future use digitally.

I was skeptical having to buy this because I knew I would have to charge it. It actually holds a charge for a long time. I don’t use it to draw on my iPad. I only use it to take notes.

I use it with my iPad Pro 9.7, the longer you have it the more you will use it. But it isn't perfect, the end cap begs to be misplaced/lost, sticking it into the Lightning port for charging is awkward. Even with the drawbacks it us the best on the market.

Best in it's class. Easy to pair and even comes with a replacement tip when the other one wears out. Instructions are straight forward. I bought one of these for me users along with the iPad Pro 9.7" and the Apple folio keyboard. Great combination.
