Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i've been an Apple Ecosystem cheerleader since a few months before the famous 1984 Super Bowl commercial—in line for my 128 K Mac at Computerland in San Jose weeks before the official announcement. I bought this for a convoluted reason. My wife bought a first generation iPad Pro I think 5 years ago, and outfitted it with a 3rd party keyboard and an Apple Pencil (1st generation), which she never used. Recently, my own iPad Air2 began discharging its battery even when not in use, so I had decided to replace it. A minute or so with the new "M1" 11" iPad Pro and its "Magic Keypad" told me the evolution of Apple Tablets had progressed markedly, but I still didn't know whether I'd be a candidate for a pencil. So, I tried using her Pencil on her tablet, only to learn that the PENCIL's battery had failed. Apple telephone support suggested there might be a replacement allowance and booked me at Best Buy for a service evaluation. Turns out all I could get was a discount of $20 on a replacement. So I bought it, but I've not spent any time testing the gen 1 pencil on my wife's tablet because I've been so busy actually USING my M1 11" iPadPro with that MARVELOUS new keyboard (actually in preference to my 16" MacBook Pro much off the time
