This is nice for marking up documents as well as electronic coloring. It allows accurate and precise coloring in a very small space. I also use it for taking notes during meetings. The price is a bit steep so I’m giving 4 stars for that reason.

Pros: Great to draw on the iPad with. I love its precision even when I'm just browsing the web, or playing games. Charges fast.
Cons: It's easy to misplace; try to have a designated spot for it, or get a case that holds the pencil too.

While the pencil is not necessary, it is very fun to use. It's a great accessory. If you can afford to spend the extra $100, I would recommend getting this if you want a pencil for your pro. We tried purchasing a cheaper option but it did not work.

Works great with my iPad pro. I use it for notes as well as drawing. It feels great in the hand and the pressure sensitivity is like drawing with a real pencil.

So it works great. The pressure sensitivity is wonderful when paired with Procreate or Adobe. It is a really great tool and always works! I have one complaint. It comes with 2 very tiny parts that are so easily lost. The cap at the end of the pencil is magnetic and when it's on the pencil that is fine, but when it's off (aka when you're charging the pencil) it's a super tiny piece of plastic with no easy place to store. The charging converter (super clever!) is also super tiny, it makes sense from a less is more standpoint and it IS elegant, but I get the feeling Apple has sacrificed a little functionality for sleekness. Why isn't the cap at the end of the pencil somehow affixed to the pencil so you don't lose it? Why does the lighting cable converter have to be so easily losable when they could have made it a block?

Nice pencil but still can be better

This is a nice addition that apple has come out with but it still has some things that need to be worked out to be really good such as the following: 1. The pencil can be a little bit thicker and not so slim, 2. It could have a different finish like a matte, so it's not so slippery, 3. They should give you a selection of colors to choose from, I know they want to stick with the white apple theme, but sometimes I may not want to use such a bright color 4. There should be some type of battery indicator to let you know how much power there's left so you can make sure that it's ready to go when ever needed, 5. There should be some type of clip or magnet or something that would allow you to possibly clip it to the ipad or maybe shirt or jacket pocket. Other than those few things I am liking it other than having to plug it in to connect to the ipad when I haven't used it in a few days.

I'm not really an artist but this pencil is amazing. The regular apple note's app turns into an incredible drawing app once you get a pencil. Looking at the effects you can't tell the difference form an actual pencil to the digital rendering on the screen, including using angles and different pressure differences.
The charging method is a little awkward, you have to either plug it into your ipad to charge it or you can use a lightgning cable with a small male-female adapter. I also wish the smart cover had some way to store the pencil, but I keep it in my laptop bag near my other pens.

I just bought a new iPad due to my other one being out of date. I was hesitant of buying the pencil but I am so glad I did! It quickly connects to my iPad and I'm going to be using it in college. It's easy to take notes. I have read online that the top part of the pencil comes off easy. So i suggest buying a silicone sleeve for the pencil that way you don't lose anything. The sleeves aren't expensive and there's a ton of options to choose from!

The Apple Pencil is the best stylus for an iPad Pro. The tip is very accurate and relatively responsive when using with the 9.7” iPad Pro. I am not an artist myself but I found the Apple Pencil to be very useful with note-taking and document annotation. Additionally, Apple Pencil will work with all iPad Pros released (and hopefully the newer ones that will come out later).
One drawback is that charging it requires you to plug the Pencil into the lighting port, making using the iPad while charging it very awkward. Thankfully, it is relatively quick to charge.
