It is a huge improvement from the 1st generation! The new matte surface provides a much better grip. It has one flat edge that attaches magnetically to the side of iPad Pro for automatic charging and pairing. It also gives the effect that it doesn’t roll off the desk so easily, resembling the feeling of a real pencil which makes it more convenient to hold. The new Pencil is shorter and feels much more balanced when writing. It also features a touch surface that supports double-tapping so you can change tools without setting it down. Given all of the major upgrades, it was made specifically for the 11 and 12.9-inch IPad Pro models only.

I have mixed feelings about the Apple Pencil. In some ways, it is absolutely brilliant. The magnet aspect is amazing in my opinion. There are many capabilities that come with it. However, within a couple weeks of having it and dropping it a few times, I noticed that the tip was slightly chipped or degraded. Also, it is so frustrating sometimes how you cannot resize windows, swipe to the Home Screen, control center, notification screen, or access recently used apps screen with the Apple Pencil. Also, when using the scribble feature to write words into text boxes, good luck trying to do anything else because every time you do it will think you’re trying to write a word.

This thing is AWESOME. It was my very first Apple pencil, after being a lifetime Android user, and it really does feel better than Samsung's pens. The closer thing to a real pen that I've ever experience. And I absolutely LOVE the double-tap functionality to switch to eraser tool. And even more, I love that you can tap practically ANYWHERE on the pen to activate that feature. Not just on a single spot. Definitely recommended.

It feels very ligjt and is very comfortable on the hands. It writes very easily. The double tap to use the eraser and pback to pen is very convenient.

Pencil works well with my Ipad. I like that it gets its charge from the Ipad.

This is my first Apple Pencil and this is awesome. As a visual artist this is a game changer. I have usually done my prep work on a desktop but along with the Apple Pencil Pro I purchased the new 13” iPad Pro so the combination is an artist’s dream.

I just got the Apple Pencil and it's a game changer for taking notes and sketching on my iPad. The precision and responsiveness are top-notch, and I love the feel of the pencil on the screen. It's a bit pricey, but in my opinion it's worth it for the added convenience and improved productivity. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend the Apple Pencil to anyone in need of a high-quality stylus.

Apple has done away with the clunky way the original Apple Pencil charging method by working magnetically with the newest iPad Pro. I used to worry quite a bit about having the original AP plugged into a lightning port and damaging it in some accident. Having it charge by sticking to the edge of the new iPad Pros means it shouldn't ever be without a full charge or potentially misplaced. The magnet connection is pretty strong. This new format also incorporates a flat edge on the Apple Pencil so it shouldn't roll away if you lay it down on your desk. This new version is a bit shorter compared to the old version; more in tune to a standard size pen or pencil. The other big upgrade to this model is it has more a of a matte finish surface for easier gripping. The original model is pretty glossy and if you should have a bit of hand sweat while working/writing, it became a little awkward maintaining a decent grip. This product would get a full 5 stars had Apple made them backwards compatible with the previous iPad Pros. If you have a v1 or v2 model of the iPad Pro, you must get the original Apple Pencil. If you want the better Pencil, you have to buy the newer iPad Pro. I think that's a bit of money grab BS on Apple's part.

I’d been using an Apple Pencil with my 10.5” iPad and bought the new one when I upgraded to my new 2018 12.9”. the magnetic attachment is very convenient, but the wireless charging is the best.

Super responsive and easy to write with. Battery last for quite awhile and charges even faster.

I love this pencil. It fits nicely in my hand. The upgrade from the original is night and day. I’m happy to be able to take notes and draw with my iPad Pro!

Like it’s simplicity and ease of use. Charges well. Get a case that holds pencil to iPad more than just magnet for peace of mind.

If you have a typing issue where you commonly hit wrong or multiple keys, they is i quick solution for those quick emails or notes. If you draw or color, it makes filling in details a snap. Its sturdy, resists dirt, does not slip easily, and has decent magnets to hold it on your ipad. I would HIGHLY recommend an ipad cover with the pencil holder insert on tue side. The ones that support charging- some do not! The little elastic pockets do not, are cheap, and stretch or pull off. I have not lost or broken a tip yet. I did constantly knock the pencil off and drop it without the ipad cover. A good jolt pulls it off, as does slidimg it in a purse or briefcase.

Great product.. haven’t had a issue at all. Works and charges perfectly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a apple product.

It is so convenient that it charged with the IPad. Easy to use and comfortable.

When a pencil and paper takes longer to get or you need the digitally draw, this helps. It’s more about convenience than the drawing for me, though. I’d like to note I bought it on sale where it was almost half the price and that was my final deciding factor. Regular price though, eh, wait!
