i had the first gen and it was always dying and i hated the way to charge it/ sync it to the iPad i felt like it was going to break. this model i don't have to worry about that at all its all together feels better and i never worry about it dying!

Great battery life! Easy to use! Incredibly durable. I use it every day and I’ve had it for over a year and still works like brand new. Highly recommend.

Apple Pencil connects to my iPad effortlessly. No need to charge it it charges through the iPad. The point beaks easily if it’s dropped so be careful. But there are tip replacements for purchase.

Works fine, simple to pair and charge with my I-pad Pro. However, for me personally, I have not found a great use for the pencil as I am not an artist and into coloring, for me it works to take notes etc, and for the most part, the handwritten notes become searchable, etc.

Good quality and solid design. I’m sure it will last a long time and it stays charged.

After using the gen 1 Apple pencil for so long I got used to its shortcomings-such as the peculiar way it connected and charged via the iPad lightening port causing it to awkwardly stick out like a weird appendage or its rounded shape that had a tendency to roll around hard surfaces. But the newer pencil made me realize his much I had been settling for "usable". The magnetic charging capability makes connecting super simple and allows me to charge the pencil while I'm simply storing it on the side - completely effortlessly and without even realizing it. And the added function of the side button tap features improves workflow efficiency in drawing apps such as Procreate which has several gesture shortcuts but being to implement the pencil into the mix makes things so much easier!

Must have if you do photoshop or any detail work on an iPad. Have not regretted the purchase at all. Works well and easy to keep up with due to magnetic attachment to iPad. Very easy setup.

Purchased an Apple iPad thru Apple Store but went to Best Buy first. They did not have the iPad in stock but I purchased the Apple Pencil 2nd Generation and it works great. I wish there was accident protection available for the item though.

I returned my iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil in the end and went with the Surface Pro 7 and pen because it suited my needs better. The Apple Pencil is nice and a beautiful design as is the Apple way looks are a big deal and it works great with the Pro. Artists I am sure enjoy this Pencil very much as it is very useful. The price is a little high in my opinion but again it's Apple... I would recommend it but only for people with specific needs, wants or just who truly love Apple.

Purchased in conjunction with an iPad Pro & works great. Bought for my daughter as a Christmas gift ahead of her starting college & will work great for notetaking & serving all of her needs in & out of the classroom. Easy to use & even easier to charge. Thanks!

I miss the weight and heft of the 1st generation Apple Pencil; this one is a lot lighter and the one flat side causes my hand to cramp in ways the earlier version never did. However, the magnetic charging is a way better setup than having to plug the old version into the side of the iPad so it protrudes awkwardly. Be careful what kind of case you get for your iPad; the first one I got did not allow the Apple Pencil to fit snug enough to the magnetized panel on the top of the iPad, so the Apple Pencil's battery died on me. I had to take the case back and buy a better designed one to let the Apple Pencil sit snugly against the magnet, and haven't had another problem like that since. This Apple Pencil charges pretty quickly and the pressure sensitivity and range of different holding angles work great as they did with the first generation Apple Pencil, but I will say this version seems to be even more sensitive/precise than the earlier iteration. It's also really nice that the extra replacement nibs I bought will not go to waste, as they fit both the first and second generation Apple Pencils.

Battery life lasts so long! I love that you can plug it into the iPad to charge, too!

Works great! Excellent response on my iPad. Holds charge very long time. Good weight and feel. Helpful hint: If you should lose your Apple Pencil, the quickest way to find it is to buy a new one. The old one will magically re-appear!

The way the pencil charges magnetically is infinitely better than the previous way. However, the flat edge put on the pencil does make it a little awkward to hold. Although this may feel more comfortable after some time. Everything about the accuracy and feel of the old pencil is here making it an amazing drawing tool. The first time I bought the old Apple Pencil it hurt to spend $100, now they’re charging $130 which is just adding insult to injury. Despite its pitfalls if you’re an artist who uses the IPad every day this is a must have.

This is a great improvement on the original Apple Pencil, particularly in the ease of charging it. With expanded opportunities to use the pencil in iPadOS and 14, the pencil is not just an accessory anymore but something that is a must-have for the iPad Pro.

Love this pencil!! I love that I can point to letters and type quickly. Also great for marking up pictures and documents!! Since it is magnetic, it is easy to charge and is never displaced.

This pencil is a must to se with the Apple IPad. It is light wat and easy to use. It holds its charge very well.
