The new Apple Pencil is a noticeable improvement over the first generation. The wireless charging works well and the magnets hold the pencil securely during basic use. If placed in a bag, pencil will likely come off with jostling, but holding the pencil in this situation is not the intended design. Writing is smooth and responsive. The double tap to switch tools is very useful in note taking.

Great battery, use and functionality. Love that you can charge it with the iPad now and feature wise is great. Recommend pairing it with a paper like screen protector.

Purchased this Apple Pencil 2 to go with a mini iPad. The Pencil works well and generally gets used for coloring and other fun stuff by our child on the iPad. It attaches magnetically to the side of the iPad mini for storage and charging. No issues connecting it to the iPad and it just works.

The 2nd generation Apple Pencil fixed everything that was wrong in the 1st generation: flat side means that it does not roll off the table, no cap covering a charging connection to lose, magnets snap to top of iPad and wireless charging. Behind this simplicity of use are many complex moves by Apple. Simply a great tool and a must for latest iPad Pro.

If you are a creator then you need this pen. From editing photos in Lightroom or Photo Shop. You can edit videos more precisely and also draw in apps like Pro Create . The iPad is good alone but if your into photo editing like I am , I rely on the Apple Pencil every time . If you draw , or edit photos or videos this is the pen to buy

If you have an IPad then you should buy the Apple Pencil. It helps with writing notes for those who are studying. Also, artists can use it for their portfolios.

This pencil is fantastic. It has many options for the style (looks like you are writing with a pencil, pen, or marker) and colors. Easy to change sizes of tip or color of ink. Erasing is easy as well. I used it for grading and saved a ton of time. Plus, I didn’t have to print documents in order to add comments—saved paper and toner! Love that it magnetically connects to the iPad and charges.

Good product. Use to take notes in college. Only thing I wish was different is how it connects to my ipad. This is my second pencil because the first one fell off. Also, while it is very useful, it seems a little pricey.

I use my Apple Pencil 2 everyday as I take notes with my IPad Pro 11. The Apple Pencil 2 can charge by attaching it to your IPad. The Apple Pencil 2 also has no lag and writes flawlessly. It is very comfortable to hold. Overall, I would recommend the Apple Pencil 2 if you have a new version of the IPad Pro.

This pen is in fact....ALL THAT! So much more than a stylus there is really no comparison. Very responsive and allows for sketching.....I never knew it, but I can literally draw! Can't wait to take a tutorial. Apple has so many classes! The battery life is excellent too! Reprogramming myself not to use my finger.....I hate smudges. Pricey but worth it!

I’m still trying to reconcile the higher price. I actually do use it more than the previous version because of the ease of charging and the elegant magnetic connection to the iPad, but come on! This seems like a money grab to me. Functionality is fine, but not noticeably better than the earlier version. Why am I paying more for a fix that should not have been necessary in the first place??!! I mean, could there have been a more ridiculous (and un-Apple-like) charging setup than sticking this thing into the iPad at a right angle? No, I don’t think so. Still, it’s a great accessory - just one we shouldn’t have to pay a premium for, given it’s clunky predecessor.

This pen is super useful! You can even use it when browsing the search engines. The design is also comfortable in the hand and the mobility is excellent compared to the 1st gen being plugged in. I would recommend opting for the second, which also charges on the side of the Ipad.

This Apple Pencil is really well designed. First is the very strong magnet that allows your pencil to sit atop your IPAD. Easy to use for any sized hands and is very responsive given its application. One thing to watch out for is that the tip needs to be all the way screwed in to the pencil itself or it will not work .

Sleek, satisfying to hold, not at all cumbersome. It's got a lot of built-in features for user-accessibility, and just pairs nicely (both functionally and aesthetically) with the iPad!

This is similar to the first generation Apple Pencil I have in terms of quality and application. The design changes on this one include a single flat side and magnetic capabilities. Also a “tap” function that allows for switching modes. As an example, from writing tool to eraser. This can be set in the preferences.

As a true fan of apple products, You really can't go wrong with this in terms of practicality for everyday use, ease of charging (since it stays safely connected to your advice). The only thing I wish you can do is have it be located via FIND MY DEVICES in the remote circumstances that it is lost.

I love this pen. It connects very easily to my tablet and I have never had issues with the bluetooth. Battery last a long time and I feel like it charges relatively fast

Using Apple Pencil second generation with iPad Pro 11 inch. This pencil is a huge improvement over the first generation. I like to get it charges in the case with the iPad, or just by sitting next to it. I appreciate being able to double tap in order to switch from writing to erasing (can be set to last tool used or color palette), but this can still be improved by Apple. I’ve also used the Surface Pro with pen and love how it works like a real pencil when you flip from the writing tip to the other end of the pencil to erase (think of a regular wooden pencil from elementary school or just a regular pencil—one end writes, other end erases). Now, if Apple allowed for that and still kept the double tap, maybe included a triple tap, as well, then one could easily switch between writing, erasing, using the last tool, AND color palette). I wish I could use my Surface pen with my iPad, but this 2nd gen pencil is still better than the first. I look forward to the day when Apple is not so stingy with what their products can do. Don’t get me wrong, I love Apple products, but I am not afraid to see what others are offering, allowing me to see what possibilities are out there. I think Apple is still counting on many of us to continue grandfather-ing from one Apple product to another, but even I can see Apple is not really evolving/incorporating the best of what’s out there. For what this Apple Pencil 2nd gen is supposed to do, write and erase and access palette, it does that. The pencil does not use the double tap in some of the store apps, like drawing, but the pen works with some of the Apple apps. The pencil is quick and easy to use; it is still ridiculously overpriced, and has the potential to do so much more (perhaps switch between pencil/pen/paintbrush; slide finger up/down pencil to change writing width or change colors or move from lighter to darker shades of color being used, ...). So much potential. Overall, the Apple Pencil serves the basic purposes mentioned above. The service I received at Best Buy from Tybris was wonderful. He answered my questions, provided options, and rang me up. Give that guy a raise, an iPad, and an Apple Pencil. I tried to upload a photo of the pencil but apparently the “file is too big”. So enjoy the review and be sadface there ain’t no picture to accompany.

Very responsive on my iPad Pro. I use the pencil daily with a matte textured screen protector. The iPad screen is very slick, so using the pencil takes a little practice. Feels natural in my hand. I really like the magnetic charging and storage. I never used the first gen pencil, not sure how it compares.
