This should really come with the iPad. It is like Apple selling a power cord separately. Worth it for notes and expands use on the iPad but over priced.

I had to get the new pencil when I upgraded my iPad. I like that this one attaches magnetically fo my iPad and charges that was as well!

Much much better than generation one. This pencil is easy to charge as it is magnetically attached to your iPad when not in use. Strongly recommend

I like using the second generation pencil for playing solitaire and drawing in apps meant for photo and sketches. It also works very good for navigating through the Home Screen tabs so you do not get your screen all touched up. Charge stays for a while. I used it for days and it still was not under 50%.

I could not work on my tablet without it. It is thin so it fits well in your fingers like a regular pencil but works so much better.

If you’re buying an iPad Pro, then the additional purchase of an Apple Pencil is an absolute. The price tag is a little on the higher side, but this pencil is second to none. Any off-brand writing utensils will probably not work as well as the Apple Pencil. It’s a great Pencil, VERY little to no lag and it seats comfortably in your hand.

I use the pencil to mark up documents and assignments to provide feedback for my students. It makes sketching ideas and writing notes quick, easy and shareable.

I had the prior iPad Pro 9.7 and pencil. It always concerned me having it stick out from iPad that I would break it off. The 'side mount' and charge is much nicer design.

Takes everything from the first generation and makes it better. The wireless charging is so much better than the clunky way the first gen charged.

I’ve tried other pens…they don’t compare. If you have a iPad definitely spend the extra money to get the ipencil. I only wish they included it with the purchase of the iPad.
