Upgrading from the 1st generation Apple Pencil, there’s not a tremendous difference for my use case. I use the Pencil for simple note-taking for school, and there’s not a tremendous difference in precision/accurary for this Pencil compared to the 1st generation. However, what separates this device is the charging/storing mechanism. Having the Pencil magnetically attach & charge to iPad is EONS better than the first generation implementation. The Pencil charges quickly and the magnetic strength is highly reliable. Price is a bit much, but overall a great complimentary purchase.

My daughter wanted this for her birthday, she likes to draw, it works perfectly, no lag. Charges quickly and holds a charge for a long time.

This new Apple Pencil is better than the previous generation. And it’s always charging on my iPad Pro 11. It feels like a real pen, with pressure and tilt sensitivity.

The Apple Pencil is a fine tool for writing notes and drawing. It's highly accurate and comfortable in my hand. Pairing it with my iPad Pro is quick and easy — put it in the IPad's magnetic charger and you're good to go. Highly recommended, though I wish it weren't so expensive.

Very light, fits perfectly like a pencil, and nice to use. Only thing I think is a bit much, is the price, but the item itself is amazing

iPad pro with pencil is the deadliest creativity combination one can have. Great for drawing, editing, taking notes. Easy to charge and use. Feels awesome.

It protects the iPad so well. It has a very nice pencil holder as well. The only problem is the kick stand that you need to take the cover off to break the stand down. All in all very happy

This was exactly the solution I was looking for with my iPad. Good quality that’s comfortable in my hand and was very easy to connect.

This pencil is great and easy to use and I highly recommend it if you’re a iPad users. The only reason why I give it 4 stars is because of the price. They changed the design of the pencil (which I love) but made the old one unusable on new ipads. Which makes upgrading to the new iPad a lot more expensive all together.

This apple pencil is compatible with most recent ipads, is very nice, and easy to use. The design is awesome, and makes my life more easier.

I had the first generation and wasn't sure that I would like the second generation one after seeing a friend have difficulty getting hers to stay connected. However, I got this to use with the newest iPad Pro and love it. Easy connect, effortless. Stays charged for a long time. And now because it can always be charged, I don't have to choose between charging the first generation apple pencil or my old iPad Pro. Both the newest iPad pro and this Apple Pencil hold their charges for so long. I only charge every few days, and I use it for work!

This is my first Apple Pencil and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but I’m very happy with it. Unlike the previous version, this pencil magnetically attaches to the top of the iPad horizontally for charging. No more plugging it into the charging port. It’s very easy to use and responds as quickly as if using an actual writing tool. As a first time user I was disappointed that there was nothing in the box explains how to use it but YouTube took care of that for me. There are many good videos out there that show the features and how to activate them.

I loved this pencil. I previously had the pencil pro but for my personal use this one is just as good and is compatible with the older model ipads so it suited me perfectly.

The 2nd gen Apple Pencil works well like it should. I love how the pencil charges automatically when attached to my iPad Pro’s magnetic strip. With this new feature the pencil always has power and I never have to stop in the middle of working to plug it in. My only gripe is when I’m carrying my iPad around the pencil will fall off the magnet rather easily. It always seems to fall tip down and the tip gets dinged up and doesn’t work as well. Luckily extra tips are easy to purchase and replace. Basically this pencil is a must have if you are a daily iPad user.

I bought this wonderful writing instrument as a Christmas gift for my sister'n law, and she loves it! It is always a gratifying experience to buy practical gifts for family members. My sister 'n law, who is hearing impaired, recently received an Apple Pro iPad. This pen pairs nicely with this iPad, and magnetically attaches to the top of iPad for ease of finding it when needed. The Apple Pencil is a blessing for the communication differences of hearing impaired individuals. I highly recommend it as an accommodation for deaf people.

Great little tool that really helps with drawing and filling out forms on your iPad. We have two iPads in our home and I use this Pencil whenever I need to sign any e-forms for work, and the other iPad is used primarily as a drawing pad. It’s super easy to switch between the two iPads, just dock it for a second so it can pair up, and start using it. For drawing it’s fantastic, it’s almost like using a regular pencil, especially when paired up with one of those paper-like screen protectors. Overall we’ve been really happy with this.

This pencil is rather pricey but its functionality definitely is worth the cost. I love drawing with this and using it to take notes as I am a tactile person.

I love the 2nd Gen Pencil. Much needed improvements over the 1st Gen...namely the wireless charging/magnetic storage. The tip is a little stiff when I compare it to my Microsoft Surface Pro X but all in all they both work. I tend to lean more to the Microsoft side when it comes to the total writing experience but I still go back and forth. Using the Apple Pencil I have completely eliminated that little scratch pad on my desk that I used to jot down phone numbers random notes or thoughts and I always have that stuff with me because everything syncs across iCloud.
