The ability to write on the screen makes using my iPad much more diverse. Apple doing what they do best

I primarily use the Apple Pencil to take notes. Paired with the proper app (Noteshelf 2 in my case) it creates a satisfying experience. Nothing better than snapping the pencil back to the new iPad Pro through the magnetic connection once I'm done.
