The new pencil is so much better because it’s one piece so nothing to lose. It charges right on top so it’s always charged and ready to go. I love it.

I love this pencil more then the first for many reasons...
1. The easy charging on the side. That’s the best feature, because you can just stick it on the side of the tablet and your done! Let it start charging. No more sticking out from the charging port.
2. It actually FEELS like a pencil, the texture has changed for the better and there is no longer a removable top part. That way you don’t have to have the stress of losing that cap.
3. It has some great connectivity. The Latency has shorten even more and it feels like a actual pencil. Great product.

This is an expensive product but it, like most Apple products, works wonderfully. Got this as a backup to my current Apple Pencil. When you use it with pencil aware applications like Procurve, you get really great feel and pressure control on the inks you are “drawing”.
Also, the charging by placing it at the top of the iPad works really well. The only drawback is there is no place to store the pencil, so you need to buy a separate holder. Just don’t lose it!

Bought it used or out of the box to save on price. So far it works perfect. *update* still works great but battery life seems a little short some times, and doesn’t connect all the time or connects on the side and shows that it’s charging. It could be user error who knows.

A bit high priced for a “pencil”, but considering it’s close enough to realism drawing on your iPad Pro, i grabbed it.
Definitely an improvement on the first gen one as I wasn’t too pleased with the charging process, cap cover, and an extra accessory to find a pocket for. The 2nd gen is a pleasure to snap store against the iPad Pro and toss in a sling bag. The fact that is also how it charges, simple genius killing two birds with one stone.
Haven’t had to fully use this, but I’m sure it’ll be a required necessity when adobe releases its software for the iPad Pro next year.

The only thing holding my rating from a 5 star is simply the amount of features.
Is it a great drawing stylus? Yes!
Is it a great note taking tool? Yes!
But it feels very limited. What it does is great but what it lacks is also great.
Overall a great and solid product!

I originally debated whether I truly needed this pencil and to help with the decision making, I borrowed one from a friend to test for a few days before I bite the bullet. And I’m glad I did - note taking, reading, and even less finger prints made it worth the purchase. I highly recommend everyone to think through what purposes this pencil should serve in your usage and I think it’ll naturally lead to the decision for a purchase or not.
