Customers are saying

Customers regard the product highly for its exceptional ease of use, strong overall performance, and efficient charging capabilities. Its excellent compatibility with the iPad, good battery life, and accuracy for tasks like drawing and note-taking are also frequently highlighted. However, the price is a significant concern for many, and some users have reported issues with the tip's durability and connection. While lag is generally not a problem, a few customers find its size to be a drawback.

Unfortunately a necessary evil, albeit a good one.

Being brutally honest: Not much of an improvement over the 1st generation, at least, I think it isn't. Pros: Wireless charging is nice. Magnetic clip and, boop, you're charging. Also sticks onto the iPad so it doesn't fall off. It'd need heck of a bump to come off. Not saying it wouldn't, but it seems very difficult to make it part from its wireless charging magnetic cradle without intentionally removing it. Pencil thickness is reduced which is also nice. The 1st gen was pretty bulky, but solid. This one is thinner and lighter, but curious about how durable it is. Certainly wouldn't try and bend it. Cons: Material is a big step back. The 1st gen was much more "Apple-esque" with its brilliant white and shiny coating. This one is very slippery, it's slipped out of my hands more in a couple weeks of ownership than the 1st gen ever did in a year and a half. It's notoriously bad when you have dry skin, such as when you're on an airplane. No additional tips. Not sure WHY they chose to not include an extra tip like they did last time, but that's rough. Break the tip, you gotta buy more before you can use the pencil again. Having that extra included from the get-go gives you a "fool me twice..." experience that you don't get this time around. "Meh"-s: Double tap to switch: A cool concept, but works maybe 40% of the time. Or, it false-fires. Maybe user error, I dunno. I try to use it but sometimes it's just easier to tap between the "pencil" and "eraser" icons in Notes and/or Notability. Tracking: Doesn't seem to be improved over the 1st gen. Maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't seem to be any more or less accurate which I guess is a good thing? Overall, I think the biggest gripe is that you can't use the 1st gen pencil on the new iPad Pro which I guess isn't the pencil's fault, but still lame nevertheless. It's still a great product and I use it almost daily, and definitely wouldn't replace it with anything else. Just make sure you don't break the tip unless you've bought extras. Side note: My first 2nd gen had a manufacturer defect that caused the transducer to break off if the tip was removed. I returned it and received a new one, although out of caution I haven't removed the tip yet. I'd advise using similar caution with yours, just in case.

I use my Apple Pencil 2 everyday as I take notes with my IPad Pro 11. The Apple Pencil 2 can charge by attaching it to your IPad. The Apple Pencil 2 also has no lag and writes flawlessly. It is very comfortable to hold. Overall, I would recommend the Apple Pencil 2 if you have a new version of the IPad Pro.

As soon as I unboxed my beautiful brand new ipad pro, I knew I had made the right decision. With a sleek design and the new magic keyboard and second generation apple pencil, it makes the experience one to remember. Say goodbye to logging in on the slow PC’s at work and getting carpal tunnel from the uncomfortable mouse! Now you can access your websites in style. Draw and create masterpieces on a whim, take quick notes by swiping up from the bottom right of the screen, and watch your videos on the big screen! Sufficient to say, this iPad will change the way you work, and boost your personal creativity- giving you the tools to promote your productivity, and encourage your creativity.

    New Apple Pencil

This is a better version of an Apple Pencil. No more taking cap off to charge. Nice that it magnetically connects to new IPAD and charges that way. I think Apple accessories are a little expensive sometimes but I anticipate using the pencil frequently. If you have a new IPAD, it is worth the investment to get the pencil too.

The Apple Pencil works smoothly and pairs instantly with my iPad. It feels natural when writing or drawing, and the pressure sensitivity is excellent. Battery life lasts long and charges quickly. Definitely a must-have for creatives and note-takers!

It just intuitively works how you would expect it to work. It’s expensive, but I use it constantly for work. Jotting notes quickly. Rough sketching a project for a customer in real time. And tons more. Just don’t lose it!

As a true fan of apple products, You really can't go wrong with this in terms of practicality for everyday use, ease of charging (since it stays safely connected to your advice). The only thing I wish you can do is have it be located via FIND MY DEVICES in the remote circumstances that it is lost.

Apples signature simplicity in design and functionality are on full display here. As a student who takes notes in class and a pilot who is frantically writing down instructions and information in the air, the Apple Pencil 2nd gen has been huge in my organization in situations I already use my iPad. Highly recommend!

Good product. Use to take notes in college. Only thing I wish was different is how it connects to my ipad. This is my second pencil because the first one fell off. Also, while it is very useful, it seems a little pricey.

The Apple Pencil 2nd generation is amazing! It writes like a ballpoint pen on notebook paper. It has a double tap feature that allows you to switch between the writing and erasing features of the Pencil. It charges very quickly, by way of magnet, placed on the side of the iPad Pro. It’s a little expensive at $129, but it’s worth it.

Very responsive on my iPad Pro. I use the pencil daily with a matte textured screen protector. The iPad screen is very slick, so using the pencil takes a little practice. Feels natural in my hand. I really like the magnetic charging and storage. I never used the first gen pencil, not sure how it compares.

Got it on sale at Bestbuy for 40% off on Oct 2022. Have a little trouble to find direction to connect to iPad, but after watch instruction on YouTube and it was very simple to use. Easy to charge Apple Pencil without any wire, great product for iPad.

This pen is super useful! You can even use it when browsing the search engines. The design is also comfortable in the hand and the mobility is excellent compared to the 1st gen being plugged in. I would recommend opting for the second, which also charges on the side of the Ipad.

works perfectly but, tapping noise can be annoying.. nothing good silicone nibs can’t fix, which makes pen still work perfectly for all tasks other than fine writing. no lagging, connects fine and charge lasts quite a while given i use it a fewwww hours a day and rarely charge it other than here and there when i get up to go do something.

This pen is very accurate and sensitive. Exactly what I was looking for. Some people complain about it being a little over price for what you get but if you find use for it every day when using your iPad and getting use to it, it makes it worth it.

Certainly there are some improvements over the previous version, the wireless charging alone is one of the most welcomed update. The accuracy has also been improved and the indent helps it not roll all over the placed when placing it on a flat surface. The price to me is still a little high though.

I love the apple pencil. I previously had the 1st generation one and this one is so much better because I don't have charge it as it automatically charged. Highly recommend over the 1st gen.
