The Apple pen combined with the keyboard turned the I Pad into a multidimensional laptop and sketch book capable of completing digital and traditional handwritten school assignments.

If you're considering an iPad for college, the note-taking capabilities alone make it a worthy investment. However, when it comes to choosing a specific model, the iPad Pro might not be the most practical option. The truth is, for the average user, the extra features and specs of the Pro version don't necessarily justify the higher price tag. In reality, if you're in the market for an iPad primarily for academic purposes, opting for a more budget-friendly version could be a smarter choice. While the iPad Pro certainly boasts impressive performance and advanced features, such as the ProMotion display and the powerful A-series chip, these may not be essential for your everyday college tasks like note-taking, researching, or writing papers. Moreover, the decision to purchase the "best" version often stems from circumstances like having surplus funds designated for educational expenses. In such cases, it's tempting to opt for the top-tier model, believing it will offer the best experience. However, it's crucial to weigh the cost against the actual benefits you'll derive from those extra features.

This would be more satisfactory if there were a lot of things that came with it to be able to use instead of needing to purchase apps. However, it is slick, stylish and easy to use.

Love this version of the Apple pencil. Much easier to charge and with the flat edge on one side, it doesn’t roll away. Stores easily with iPad.

This is my fourth Apple Pencil in three years. That should tell you two things: 1. It's become an essential element of my daily workflow. Whether it be taking down handwritten notes in Goodnotes or drawing in Procreate, I used the Apple Pencil every single day, and cannot live without it. 2. They do not hold up very well. One was my own fault — I dropped it and broke the inner tip. The other two eventually stopped charging. If you use the Apple Pencil and charge it often, the battery inside is known to give out well before expectations. The Apple Pencil is incredibly useful, feels great, and has enough functionality that set it apart from other tablet pens. I just wish the longevity was better.

I used to get a sore index finger from using the touch screen. Now I can switch between the pencil and my finger and have not had pain since. Easy to write with. Charges quickly.

I bought this for use with my ipad pro 12'9 . Taking note for school with notability app turns out to be a decent experience. You can double tap the side to switch between easer and writing mode.

I like this a lot better than the first generation pen, its much easier without the extra cap and accessories and the conventient magnetization and charging feature. I must say that making the switch from gen 1 to gen 2 was a bit strange due to the boxy shape of this pencil and the lightness compared to the nice weighted feel of the other pen. I dont find myself using the double tap feature as much.

So glad I bought the pen with my iPad. Makes things so much easier to write. You wrote like a regular pencil and it turns it into text. It easily charges to iPad.

When I first purchased the iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) I wasn't convinced that I needed the pencil 2. But I decided to purchase it and give it a try. I use the pencil to take notes in class, to make notes while reading, to highlight text. Then I started using the iPad in Calculus. This is where I found the Pencil 2 excels. I can snap a picture of my homework and then work the problem in the OneNote app. The great thing about the pencil 2 and OneNote is the ability to work on a graph paper grid. Using the graph paper grid to graph math problems makes it much better than trying to work on paper. Also being able to switch colors, highlight text, instantly erase (without eraser dust) and work with images makes the pencil 2 a great tool for the iPad Pro.
