The apple pencil gives you more to do with your iPad. Definitely recommend if you write a lot of notes!

I have used the Apple Pencil in drawing up floor plans and annotating photos and PDFs on projects in my career. It is a great experience. I highly recommend the Apple Pencil for those who have the latest iPad Pro.

Bought the iPad Air 2020 specifically so I could use the 2nd gen pencil instead of the 1st gen. The side charging is great and the pencil is very comfortable. Only downside is price.

Second generation Apple Pencil is a great improvement from the First Generation. Now able to charge pencil right from iPAD and not have to connect an AC power adapter and cord to charge the pencil

I would always run out of battery or misplace my pencil with the first generation. Don't want to say the cost of buying a whole new iPad warranted this convenience but it low-key did.
