When I purchased my Apple iPad Air 5th generation, I also bought the Apple Pencil 2nd Generation. The iPad Air allows you to draw and use the pencil for numerous tasks. Since I have never had an iPad that I could draw or write on, I decided to give the Pencil a try, I absolutely love it! It writes and draws smoothly across the screen and has allowed me to expand my creativity when I use it to draw. It's fun to use! The pencil is thin and can be charged by slipping it into the pencil groove on your iPad. I purchased a silicon skin from another website on the internet that allows me to slide it on the Pencil in order to protect it a little bit more. The Skin IS NOT needed to use the Pencil, just my preference since it is light weight, and not cheap in price. This Pencil is a must-have for those who like to get the most out of their iPad Air or iPad Pro! Even better, I purchased it at my local Best Buy store and earned Reward Points!

Apple makes extraordinary products and this Apple Pencil is no exception. I find it extremely useful in everyday tasks. It is well designed, lightweight, and easy to use. One suggestion would be to have a better way to connect the pen. The magnets are not strong enough and it slips off the side of the iPad all the time. It also makes the iPad difficult to carry - constantly worried it will disconnect.

Side by side, the average user probably wouldn’t notice a difference in performance between the 1st and 2nd generation Apple pencils. You would notice a difference in how they feel in your hand (the first generation is smooth, glossy and round like a tube, and the second gen is smooth, matte and has one flattened edge for charging and tapping for tool change). If you are a graphics designer or an artist, you will want the 2nd gen Apple Pencil since you will notice the slight lag between models. Writing on glass will always be different than writing on paper, but Apple sure did a beautiful job with this pencil! I love how the new pencil has no cap to loose. To charge it you simply lay it along the edge of your Pro tablet and the magnets securely hold it in place while it charges (fast!). A charging meter appears on the tablets screen when you attach the pencil. In comparison, the first generation Apple Pencil uses the lightening port to charge and you have to remove the unattached cap off the lightening end to plug it into your tablet where it hangs out like a long appendage. Remember though, the 2nd generation Apple Pencil is ONLY compatible with the new 2018 pro tablets.

I’ve used stylus’ in the past... this is not a stylus, this is something completely out there and on its own! The Apple Pencil (2nd Gen.) is seriously nothing short of magic. With it’s super-accurate drawing abilities and it’s crazy-convenient “double-tap” gesture to switch between drawing tools, this magic-drawing-wand honestly makes it a breeze to effortlessly bring your ideas to life! And with the completely redesigned look & feel, it holds comfortablely in your hand without the feeling that it’ll slip through your fingers. I extremely recommend picking up one of these, if you’re buying or already own the new (only compatible) iPad Pro, especially if you’re planing on using any apps such as Procreate, Adobe Draw or Sketch or even just taking notes in class or scribbling doodles at home. Honestly, nothing even comes close! Lastly, with it’s abitly to “magic-netically” cling (and charge!) to the side of the new iPad Pro, you’ll never lose it (or it’s charge!).

The apple pencil is something I wasn't sure I would be able to put to fill use, but now that I've had it for 2 months I use it for just about everything from scrolling pages on safari, taking notes in good Notes 5 and editing photos. I owned the first gen apple pencil and used it maybe once or twice and then never touched it again. But apple really put allot of thought into the second version. A must buy!

love that you don’t have to plug it in like the first generation apple pencil — a lot more convenient that it can charge magnetically when stored away i don’t have to think about charging it and worry about the battery my only issue is that i feel the nib sometimes fills down too quick but that might be a personal user error because i do write with a lot of pressure overall it’s solid, i use it a lot of drawing and illustrations for design

Being that the Apple Pencil (2nd Gen) is 30% more expensive than its predecessor, you would expect at least 30% more performance and improvements, right? Well, I am happy to say that Apple not only has met this expectation but actually surpassed it. The simple fact that the strangely designed lighting port connector on the pencil, which has always made me squirm because it was so flimsy and thought it could break, especially when attached to the iPad, is gone (yay!). Also, I never have to worry about it being dead and having to re-pair it since now all I have to do is attach it to my iPad Air 4, and voila! The matte finish and flat side design make it feel much more secure in the hands. Double tapping to activate options is certainly welcome. Also, the tilt and pressure sensitivity seems much more spot-on this time. I can’t talk about the lag since I upgraded my iPad along with the Pencil, but so far is barely noticeable, unless you’re really paying attention. It simply feels much more natural to use. Coming from last gen’s Apple pencil, this is certainly an improvement -not just in quality of life, but also in functionality. If your iPad supports it, I highly recommend getting one.

If you are an artist or student, this is a must have accessory for your new iPad. Currently, i am using this with the new iPad Air. Writing with the pen feels completely natural, with tons of levels of pressure as well as tilt. I do enjoy the fact that I don’t have to plug it into the iPad anymore to charge the pencil. The magnetic hold is strong and is quite compatible with a range of cases. While using the pencil I couldn’t really feel any latency. Very strong tool for painting, drawing, and taking notes! Highly recommend!

I have an Ipad Pro and thought this would be an upgrade to the Generic Pencil I bought a few years back. Thoughts: I like that it fits into my Zugu Ipad Case to charge without any cords. Battery seems to last for ever this way. I am just learning the programs I am using it with, ProCreate and Canva so its hard to give an honest review about the way it works. I'm not sure if its the programs that seem confusing or the actual pen software. I can however use it by just writing words into a spot and it automatically changes it to text. Kind of magical, but remember, I am still new at this feature. If I compare it to my other knockoff pencil, I don't see a big difference, except in price & the charging aspect. Hope I get the knack to using it as it was meant to be used soon!

Having owned the original iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, I respect the changes that Apple has made to the original design. The new matte design of the pencil feels durable and comfortable enough that I don’t feel like using any additional grip with it. The battery holds a substantial charge and is easily docked next to the iPad thanks to its magnetic nature/charging method. The double tap feature allows the artist to switch between pen and eraser very easily. It doesn’t feel perfect yet. I’d prefer a thinner nib on the tool and sometimes the pencil seems to register wider strokes than I wanted, or thinner strokes. It’s a bit fickle that way.

Love my Apple Pencil! It works great with my IPad Pro. Anyone wanting to use graphic/vector apps on your iPad needs the Apple Pencil. Apples’ a quality is suburb! This is my second Apple Pencil as I ran over the 1st one with the car! Even cracked it lasted another 6-8 months before it finally gave out! I’ve tried others but nothing worked as flawlessly as the Apple Pencil! I can’t imagine being without it again! I love that it allows you to write instead of typing in search bars! Charges quickly and holds a charge for hours of use!

I’ve used the original Apple Pencil since it came out with the original iPad Pro. This is definitely an improvement in most every way. Pretty much out of the box and right to use. Magnetically attaches to iPad and charges when attached. Just make sure sure the tip is screwed on tightly. If it comes slightly loose you will notice the pencil becomes not responsive. Just tighten it and all is back to normal.

Never realized how much easier it was to be productive on an IPAD until I tried out the Apple Pencil. The 2nd Generation is a breeze to integrate with my iPad Pro. I like how easy it is to charge by attaching to the top with the magnet. Only issue is I’m afraid I might lose it and the standard Apple keyboard case doesn’t have a better holder. I use the pencil for almost everything...browsing the web, shopping, playing games like crosswords or puzzle games is an awesome experience...even using music apps like “djay” work great with the pencil. This doesn’t include the traditional uses of the pencil such as drawing and taking notes. Only thing I would like to see at some point is automatic text-recognition. Right now I had to purchase “Notability” app to do this and use some clunky workaround, but it would be awesome if the writing could automatically convert to digital text. Highly recommended accessory though a little pricey...I could definitely see everyone at School and University with an IPAD and pencil in a few years.
