    A must have for artists

The Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) is a big deal for artists like me. It feels so natural and works super well for creating digital art. It's cool because it can sense how hard I'm pressing and the angle I'm holding it, just like real art tools. Charging is easy with magnets, so no worries about running out of battery. It has this nifty double-tap thing that helps me switch tools faster. Though it costs a bit, it's totally worth it for artists who want to make awesome art on their iPad. I love it and recommend it to other artists too!

I have the original Apple Pencil and enjoyed the feel of it in my hand, it’s perfect weight, and the smoothness of its tip when writing on the iPad screen. I did not think I would like the feel of the new Apple Pencil with the flat side. I was wrong - I quite enjoy the perfection of this writing instrument and have just about forgotten what the old Apple Pencil feels like. The integration of this latest Apple Pencil is very convenient and the ability to set it on top of the iPad and have it 100% charged at all times is highly useful. There were several times when i went to use my previous Apple Pencil and the batter was either dead or dying because I did not plug it in to charge. I haven’t quite mastered the double-tap on the pencil feature, but it is a nice thing to have when you want to change pen types, colors, or whatever you decide to program the double-tap to do. Highly recommend this writing instrument.

This is a great tool! It was exactly what I needed, and I love how easy it is to use. It's magnetic and charges itself in that special magnetic spot which means I know where it will be all the time, and I never have to worry about figuring out how to turn it on, turn it off, replace a battery, sharpen it, etc. It is so efficient and practical. It's great!

Recently gifted an ipad pro and knew that with so many features, having the pencil would greatly expand what my ipad could do. Its easy to use, easy to charge and has so many functions i havent even started to look into. I got an open box excellent condition and it looks and works like it is brand new.

    Better than 1st gen

Apple addressed quite a few of the flaws from the 1st gen with this product. The 2nd gen is so much more like a real pencil. When drawing or writing, It is way more precise and the response rate from pencil to iPad is much faster. I also appreciate the matte finish & flat side which makes it easier to hold and less likely to drop/roll off the table. My favorite part is the wireless charging and that it attaches To the iPad magnetically. I always disliked not being able to track my pencil or the fear of losing the little charging attachment, but those issus are no more. The only con is Apple didnt do anything with the other end of the pencil. I was hoping for an option to flip the pencil to erase like the real thing. The double tap feature for eraser is too sensitive and switches mid-draw without me wanting it to sometimes. It isn’t a deal-breaker though.

The Apple Pencil (2nd generation) is a fantastic tool that brings a new level of precision and ease to digital drawing and note-taking. The sleek design and magnetic charging feature are standout improvements over its predecessor. The pencil pairs seamlessly with the iPad, making it incredibly convenient to use right out of the box. The responsiveness and accuracy are top-notch, whether you’re sketching, shading, or simply jotting down notes. The ability to double-tap to switch tools is a game-changer, adding a level of efficiency that’s hard to overlook.

Definitely a huge improvement I’ve the Apple Pencil 1. 1. Love the magnetic docking on the side of the iPad Pro. 2. Love the wireless charging while docked to the iPad Pro 3. Love the easy and no hassle pairing of the Apple Pencil to the iPad Pro. Simple as docking the pencil, and touching yes/agree. Done. 4. Extremely low latency and better improved response over the first gen Apple Pencil. 5. Love the solid unibody design. No small parts to lose this time. 6. Touch gestures are extremely nice and convenient. Gestures can be programmed to do other functions as well. 7. The flatten side of the Apple Pencil 2 makes easy grip and the Finish is matte which means way less slipping. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has a use for the Apple Pencil. I like to use mine for photography and touching up pictures. Extremely nice accessory to have for the iPad Pro.

I can't describe how much I love the Apple pencil! I previously had a knock off ipad pencil from Amazon and oh boy what a difference it makes with the apple one. The Apple pencil makes your handwriting better and makes it easier to write on the ipad. Also love the new design, it's now matte and seems lighter in weight compared to the 1st gen Apple Pencil

This stylus component for my iPad Air is quite nifty. It allows for me to take handwritten notes both for personal use and work use. The addition of the double-tap gesture when upgrading from the 1st generation Pencil is useful and adds to the fluidity when using notes or drawing apps. I like to use it to switch between my pencil and the eraser function. The battery life is good and the wireless charging capability is much more convenient than the 1st generation’s design. Overall, this is definitely recommended and it’s worth waiting if you can find a decent price drop.

This is the first time I have purchased an Apple Pencil, I am using it primarily for taking notes on a 4th Gen iPad Air, but with the intention of improving some artistic abilities especially with horticultural illustrations and drawings. It works very well. But, let's compare a situation here: My husband recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, which included the S-Pen with that tablet. Why can't Apple include the Pencil with the purchase of some of their higher-tier iPads? Or at least offer a substantial discount to customers on the Pencil when purchasing an iPad? I like Apple devices, and I have used iPads since the beginning, but the way Apple has to squeeze every dollar out of their customers for their accessories by either charging outrageous and obscene prices for their accessories (such as the Magic Folio Keyboards for iPads), or by not including what can be considered basic accessories with the purchase of their devices, (such as the Apple Pencil) is frustrating at times. I realize Apple's devices and accessories work very well together, and I could have purchased an Apple Pencil stylus knock-off such as the Logitech Crayon, or any other options, but I decided to go for the Apple Pencil when the price dropped below $80 (almost 40% off the regular price), so I could utilize all the features without compromising any features of the Apple Pencil. At Best I can give Best Buy kudos for this being that BB's prices on many Apple devices and either Apple or non-Apple accessories has allowed me to save a good amount of $$$ over many years, so there's a flying unicorn covered with purdy glitter somewhere in this whole situation. 5-Stars on the overall experience and how well it works, but I'm reducing the rating to 4-Stars only because Apple should either include the Pencil when purchasing an iPad, or at least offer a decent discount on a Pencil with initial iPad purchase. I realize I will get many negative reactions from this, but this is how I see the reality of the consumer situation when I purchase anything and compare it to the competition.

    Excellent drawing experience

Draws like a dream in Procreate. I purchased an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to have a portable, digital sketchpad, and the drawing experience with the pencil is incredibly fluid and smooth. The pencil is easy to hold and has good weight to it so as to feel substantive in your hand, rather than floaty and delicate. The touch functions on the pencil are pretty useful, and I love how it charges magnetically on the iPad. The only downside is that it has a relatively short battery life - it drains constantly even when not in use while the iPad is off, and in terms of active drawing time, it won’t last more than 7-8 hours, I’d think. That being said, I can’t complain because it charges to full in 15 minutes. Overall, the drawing experience is top notch, and that’s my primary focus.

Has both pressure sensitivity and tilt support, making it really good for drawing or creative work. Double-tap gesture: you can switch tools (like from pen to eraser) by tapping the side. Magnetic pairing and wireless charging: attach it to the side of a compatible iPad and it charges. Low latency and very precise input — great “natural” feel. Supports Apple Pencil hover (on some newer iPads), which helps with previewing strokes.

Apple Pencil 2nd Generation worth the $$$ YES

Here All the good news about the New Apple Pencil (2nd Gen) -Pairs instantly with IPad 11 Pro -Easy charging on side of IPad -Comfortable to hold -Writes flawlessly -Good balance The Bad: -A bit expensive I use my Apple Pencil 2 everyday as I take notes with my IPad Pro 11. The Apple Pencil 2 is a definite upgrade to the Apple Pencil 1 almost just because you can charge the pencil by attaching it to your IPad. This feature alone makes the Apple Pencil worth buying. The Apple Pencil 2 also has no lag and write flawlessly. It is very comfortable to hold. The only downside is the pencil is a bit expensive but that’s common for most Apple products. Overall, I would recommend the Apple Pencil 2 if you have a new version of the IPad Pro.

The Apple Pencil 2nd Generation is a game-changer for anyone using an iPad for creative work, note-taking, or productivity. The sleek design and magnetic attachment for charging and storage are incredibly convenient. Its responsiveness and pressure sensitivity make it feel like a real pen, offering an unparalleled drawing and writing experience. The double-tap feature to switch tools is a thoughtful addition that boosts workflow efficiency. It’s an investment, but for artists, students, or professionals, it’s worth every penny. The only drawback is its compatibility limited to certain iPad models, but if your device supports it, it’s a must-have accessory.

I use the Apple Pencil 2nd generation for business note taking almost exclusively though it can be used for substantially more than that from my understanding. My review is based solely on the note taking. It's magnetic charge feature is fantastic. It is also great to hold a pencil that both looks and feels like pencil. It's functionality seems great as well. I really like it. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating is it's price. I understand research and development may sometimes be costly but honestly notwithstanding the advancement of this technology $119 plus tax for something with so little in the way of raw materials seems extreme. I have no idea how long this pencil or its battery will last and a few times it has required me to reboot and attach the iPad to get it to recognize and connect to my iPad again. That being said, I did buy it and I am happy with the product. If it lasts 2-3 years without battery or device failure then it may well be worth it but certainly not everyone is not going to shell out that kind of money for such a small device.

I love using the Apple Pencil with my iPad Pro. It makes scribbling, doodling and writing so much easier. It's just the perfect size and weight and feels natural in hand. In the right app, you can use the pencil tilted for thicker strokes and straighten it for thinner lines. You can also press it down a little harder for denser lines. The applications are many. To charge, just bring it close to the one of the sides of the iPad and it attaches itself to the iPad magnetically and starts charging immediately. That easy! Excellent companion to my iPad.

The apple pencil 2 was a huge upgrade from the 1st gen apple pencil. the battery is great, the wireless charging on the side of the ipad does away with the flimsy scary lightning plug, and the pencil is incredibly sensitive. There are things you can do with the pencil that I would never dream you would be able to do on a tablet. The different pressure sensitivities, the ability to use different angles on the tip to get different line styles, and the tap feature allows me to quickly switch between tools to be able to keep working with fewer slow downs. The only gripe would be that they only come in one color, so to be able to tell multiple people's pencils apart you either have to spend money on an aftermarket skin, or deface your property to be able to discern the difference.

I bought this to use with the latest iPad Air model that now supports the latest Pencil. It connected right away when attached to the side where it charges and attaches magnetically The magnetic attachment is fairly strong and I'm not afraid of it accidentally falling off. The battery life of the pencil is very good and there are many drawing and coloring apps that recognize and support it. One thing I was not expecting is that the Pencil tip is very hard, so when using it for drawing, the surface provides almost no resistance; it definitely feels like you're drawing on glass. Lastly, I'll mention that the size and weight of the pencil feels very good in the hand.
