Customers are saying

Customers regard the product highly for its exceptional ease of use, strong overall performance, and efficient charging capabilities. Its excellent compatibility with the iPad, good battery life, and accuracy for tasks like drawing and note-taking are also frequently highlighted. However, the price is a significant concern for many, and some users have reported issues with the tip's durability and connection. While lag is generally not a problem, a few customers find its size to be a drawback.

    A must for note-taking

The apple pencil 2nd gen is compatible and works perfect with this iPad. Seriously, if you are planning to take notes on your iPad, this pencil is a must. A life changer! I would recommend to download the app GoodNotes and also purchase a paper-like screen protecter with extra tips that are pen-like. All of these will enhance your note-taking experience immensely. Not sure how other off-brand Amazon pencils compare to this one. I bought this one to easily charge my pencil by sticking it next to the iPad. No worries when it comes to that. I’m hoping there are no major issues with this pencil since I bought it here on Amazon! Will update if there is any.

Apple nailed it with this second generation Apple Pencil. The responsiveness is flawless. The way it attaches magnetically to my latest generation iPad Air is slick and makes it very easy to charge without it hanging out of the Lightning port like the previous generation. It works great for taking notes or drawing as the iPad detects when you hold the Pencil at an angle for thicker strokes. It feels great in the hand and lays on a flat surface when you need to set it down. Well done

Absolutely love my iPencil. Can’t imagine using my iPad Pro to it’s highest potential without this product! Very satisfied. Product works as described and quality is good. Holds charge as it says it should. Fits in many different iPad cases. Only downfall is tips are sensitive and break easily if pencil is dropped. Wish they would sell it out extra tips. I learned the hard way, to buy extra tips when I dropped it at work and my pencil tip got smooshed. Otherwise overall satisfied.

I’ve been using the Apple Pencil extensively for note-taking, and it has completely changed the way I work. The responsiveness is incredible, making it feel just like writing on paper. My niece also loves using it for drawing, and it works seamlessly with the iPad for sketching and coloring. I was so impressed that I even gifted one along with an iPad to my sister, and she loves it just as much. The precision, ease of use, and seamless integration with Apple devices make this a must-have accessory for students, artists, and professionals. Definitely worth it!

This Apple Pencil Generation 2 is a much better stylus. The quality is great and is much like other Apple products in that it is sturdy, innovative and fits in with the rest of the Apple ecosystem. It stores and charges easily on my iPad and has a great smooth feel when taking notes, drawing or simply using it to swipe through apps. It’s great not having to have a separate cable or charger for this stylus. Great product!

This pen is impressive. It’s very responsive to the pressure, angle, and speed at which I move. It’s also precise and stays on track. Plus it never loses its connection the the iPad and of course, the magnetic inductive charging feature is a giant leap from its predecessor. I love it. Only drawback, it’s overpriced!

I was sort of skeptical about buying the apple pencil as I was told that it is not kind to left-handed people. Those people were wrong. This is an amazing pencil. The quality and double-tap features make it convenient and speed up writing/drawing. It's comfortable to hold on to and I have never had to worry about charging it as it magnetically connects to the Ipad. I don't think it is worth the 130. If it is ever on sale, definitely buy it.

I've had the pleasure of using the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) with my iPad, and I must say it's a game-changer for any creative or note-taking tasks. The precision and responsiveness of the Apple Pencil are truly remarkable, providing a seamless and natural writing and drawing experience. The pressure sensitivity allows me to effortlessly vary line thickness and shading, adding depth and detail to my artwork. The magnetic attachment and wireless charging feature make it incredibly convenient to keep the Apple Pencil securely attached to my iPad and always ready for use. The double-tap gesture functionality is a fantastic addition, as it allows me to quickly switch between tools or access different functions with a simple tap. The battery life is impressive, providing hours of uninterrupted use before needing a recharge. Whether I'm sketching, taking handwritten notes, or editing photos, the Apple Pencil has become an indispensable tool that enhances my creativity and productivity. If you're an iPad user looking to elevate your digital artistry or note-taking experience, the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) is an absolute must-have.

The pencil can sense if you're holding it straight or at a slant and the strokes become thicker the more you slant it. It works fabulously in the Notes app and fairly well in other apps, I am sure the other apps will offer updates for iPad Pro soon. Procreate is one of the art apps that offers full support for the Apple pencil and it is amazing. It is however a complex app to use as it has mind-boggling features for advanced drawing and painting. Luckily, it comes with a full featured book to explain how it works. Some apps like Sketches are easier. See sample pic sketched in 10-12 min (Sketches App). This is an excellent input device for the Apple iPad Pro. It is not perfect in some ways but it is very good at drawing, writing and touch control of the tablet. Here are the pros and cons as I have seen them since my use of the pencil: Pros: • Excellent for drawing or writing • Excellent for reworking photos and doing graphic arts • When used as a touch control it is very precise when using the tip. I even like using it to read with and highlighting text in a book. • It comes with a spare tip that can be replaced. • It comes with a lightning adapter that lets you use a lighting cable to charge the pencil. • It charges quickly • You can vary the pressure or the slope of the pencil tip to adjust the darkness or the width of a stoke of a bush while coloring a drawing for example. • You can see the charge level of the pencil by pulling down on the daily window shade at the top of the screen and touching widgets. The charge level of your iPad and the pencil will be displayed. Cons: • There is no way to attach the pencil to the iPad Pro or to the Apple Smart Keyboard. A simple magnet or other mounting technique would have been greatly appreciated. • The cap covering the Lightning plug on the pencil is in no way attached to the pencil which makes it very easy to lose since you have to frequently remove the cap to charge the pencil. The cap does have a small built in magnet so that when it is installed on the pencil it remains in place, but once removed to charge the pencil its lifetime is limited to human error of losing it. • The charging connector supplied for the pencil is vey small and it also has no method of connecting it to a key ring or any other object. It is the size of a small medical pill and potentially easily lost. •

Very light and easy to use. I forget sometimes that I am holding the apple pen and try to write on a piece of paper to only realize I can write on paper with it. Excellent product is definitely a must have for the iPad Pro we have. Will be buying again with our second iPad.

Artist's dream, with some caveats for biz users

Please note that I am reviewing this from the mindset of a budding biz professional that is interested in learning art, not a dedicated artist mindset... First things first, this is an Apple product. The Apple Pencil is designed to look and act beautifully. This stylus has a matte finish that doesn't feel like it is going to slip out of your hands like some others. The pen also has a nice balance to it, making it a valuable product for artists. Double tapping on the side allows you to switch tools in supported apps, which helps when sketching or doodling. Pencil is instantly recognized by my iPad Air, and I appreciate that it charges on the side wirelessly instead of having to use yet another cable to charge it... One small gripe I do have is that the double tap feature only works within apps to switch art tools. A knock-off I have used before has a feature that allows me to switch between apps or see an overlay of all open apps. If there was a way to program the Pencil to do this instead of the limited application of the feature then this would be a winning accessory hands down! Overall a bit pricy, but definitely a treat to use. If you are a dedicated artist, this would be a great investment to further your career. Meanwhile, it might not be as great of a value if you are strictly using your iPad for business use due to the limited usage...

I’ve found the Apple Pencil useful as an artist, but I have some major caveats about it. First: the battery dies really quickly! Even when I’m not using it, if I forget to unpair it, the charge drains quickly. Plus, the only way of charging it is to put it on the edge of the tablet. This is good because you don’t need an additional charger. It’s not so great because it easy lose. I lost one pencil & had to replace it It’s an expensive tool to get lost easily Third: speaking of getting lost, the pencil doesn’t have a case that would make it easier to keep track of it & nib replacements. For me, I wanted an all in one my styli & tips. So I did get a case for everything. It would’ve been helpful to have a case, esp for people who don’t want or can’t buy another pencil. Fourth , intuitive use w/apps & graphic programs. Occasionally works well, other time there’s a slight lag which is an issue for artists And lastly, this is not the fault of this Apple Pencil. Some graphic programs don’t support Apple Pencil 2 anymore. For example, Adobe Illustrator only supports Apple Pencil Pro. I want to cry. I’ve been at a standstill with my work because of the recent change. Apple makes it so difficult to keep our electronics even if we don’t want to constantly upgrade & spending more money. You would think they could incorporated the Apple Pencil Pro for IPads that aren’t just for the latest OLED screen tablets which will set you back for at least $1500

I upgraded to the iPad Pro and was initially annoyed I had to upgrade my pencil as well. However the pencil 2 seems to be more accurate and my hand writing is much more legible. (I take notes for class). The wireless charging feature is so much nicer and you don’t have to worry about losing a cap anymore. It’s slimmer than the original which can be odd if you’re used to thicker pencils. I would suggest purchasing a grip for ease of use as well.

It has been almost 5 months since I have ordered this Apple Pencil and it worked decently well for me, until just last week where it wouldn't even work with my iPad Pro at all. It would connect and read on my device, but once I try to use it, the Apple Pencil automatically disconnects and does not work. In terms of how I use the Apple Pencil, this 2nd gen design is something that took me a while to get used to but it works decently. The double tap to undo/erase/etc. was something I barely used, but it's a fun feature to have and could be useful. I really like how it has a magnet that makes it easy to attach onto the iPad Pro to both connect and charge. This is probably my favorite thing about the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil. Unfortunately, I had to knock off a few stars because of how it stopped working. I hope I can get this problem troubleshooted, but for now, this pencil is a major "eh" for me.

The Apple Pencil allows you to unlock an entire array of different functions on the iPad you would otherwise never notice was there. Note-taking and drawing is really easy to do with this pen. The ability to charge it by magnets on the side of the iPad is so seamless and ensures that you never run out of battery. The pen lasts a very long time. So far I’ve only ever dipped into the 80% range during my class lectures. Definitely recommended for students!
