Customers are saying

Customers regard the product highly for its exceptional ease of use, strong overall performance, and efficient charging capabilities. Its excellent compatibility with the iPad, good battery life, and accuracy for tasks like drawing and note-taking are also frequently highlighted. However, the price is a significant concern for many, and some users have reported issues with the tip's durability and connection. While lag is generally not a problem, a few customers find its size to be a drawback.

    My favorite Apple pencil

I am a bit of a digital pencil girl ever since the Galaxy Note phone pencils (before the blow ups). I have the first Apple Pencil, and I never used it much because it was a lot of work. You had to remember to charge it, be able to find it, it was heavy, etc. Long story short this pencil is light and easy. Apple really thought about the user. It charged itself. I just have to remember to set it on the edge of the iPad. My pencil problems are solved. I use it much more often than the other one.

Single greatest accessory to the iPad pro. I use my iPad for school, and this makes it 10x better- and worth every penny I paid. I have gone 100% paperless since buying these two items (and a few others). I have never had an issue with the battery life, as when the pencil is not in use it finds a good home magnetically attached to the side of the iPad. The pencil feels good to hold in your hand, even for long periods of time. The only thing I have yet to determine is how long the apple pencil tip will last.

Definitely better experience than the first version of the pencil. Feels better in hand, charges magnetically and doesn't have the removable tip.

Love that I get to draw and create with this to make completely customizable things such as drawings for stickers or tattoos. Easy to use, soft and comfortable. Battery life is great. Thoroughly enjoy with a case that holds it and magnet charges it on the iPad itself too. Super cool

An Excellent Stylus like no other

The Apple Pencil 2 is an excellent stylus for use with Apple devices, particularly the iPad Pro. It offers a much more natural writing and drawing experience compared to other styluses on the market, thanks to its precision and low latency. One of the standout features of the Apple Pencil 2 is its pressure sensitivity, which allows for a more nuanced and realistic drawing experience. It also has tilt support, which allows for more precise shading and control when drawing. One of the main competitors to the Apple Pencil 2 is the Microsoft Surface Pen, which also offers pressure sensitivity and tilt support. However, the Apple Pencil 2 feels more responsive and natural to use, and the overall drawing experience is more seamless. Another competitor is the Wacom Bamboo Ink, which has a more traditional pen-like design and offers similar pressure sensitivity and tilt support. However, it is not as precise or responsive as the Apple Pencil 2, and does not offer the same level of integration with Apple devices. Overall, the Apple Pencil 2 is a top-performing stylus that offers a highly enjoyable and intuitive drawing experience. If you have an Apple device and are in the market for a stylus, the Apple Pencil 2 is definitely worth considering.

Apple Pencil — 2nd Gen is great. Comfortable enough and a nice weight. The battery life has been better than I expected - used it all day taking notes, as well as downloading and then taking notes right on the presentation slides. Four hours continuous note taking. No prob - Super awesome! Only drawback is that pencils and pens habitually get dropped, or scooted off the desktop, or flung when fidgeting with them goes wrong. Mine hit the floor twice. Carpet is forgiving. Travertine is not. Mine tilts just a bit to one side.... but still works well. That’s an expensive lesson. I’m going to have to buy the cap from the 1st Gen. Really, I guess I wish it was an Apple Click (pen) so the tip would retract and be protected.

This is my first 2nd generation. Much better, Apple! Charging by sticking it on the iPad? Genius! It’s so smooth and glides along the surface like a paintbrush. The tip is fine enough to write like I like to. Drawing is amazing. No need to keep up with ends or tips or chargers. It just magnetically sticks to the iPad and charges that way. I don’t do anything without it.

This pencil is a great addition to any ipad. The battery life is amazing and the touch sensitivity is great. I love the magnetic charge feature, makes it much easier to charge. I would much rather have this version than the gen one. Being able to tap to switch between the pen and eraser is so handy for writing notes.

I started with the 1st gen, but it was a pain to charge. Then I got some non-Apple pencils, but never really loved them. I finally caved and got the 2nd gen Apple Pencil and I’ll never go back! It’s very responsive, easy to hold, and charges so much easier.

This is a game changer for anyone with an iPad! Can write more, it charges seamlessly in cases. My only gripe is that I need it to have a cover on so it feels more like a pen and the tip is easily changeable.

But....I won't because this pen does everything it was advertised to do. To be honest, I don't even know anything about this pen other then it works with the iPad Mini 2022 that I bought. It also fits in the aftermarket case that has a slot for this pen to rest in whether closed or unfolded to use with the camera. However....if I did take a star away from it, it would be because of it's texture (this is sorta petty) but it doesn't have a very grippy surface. And it feels bulky. But it is the size apple said it was, it works the way it was advertised so I can't take any points from it for things like that. It doesn't under perform, it hasn't malfunctioned nor does it have any quality control issues so it's a win win for me. The price could be cheaper then what it is but it's fine otherwise.

Sleek design, very helpful for writing notes. I go to college and take lots of notes, this has definely made my life easier. My notes are now all nice and neat and organized in my iPad. The battery on the pencil lasts a long time which is a plus.

I got this or replace of another one I had bought and it had exceeded my expectations. It is so smooth and can be used with so many if not all of the apps. I use it every time I use my iPad and the convenience of charging it on the side of your iPad rather then having to plug it in makes it convenient and hard to lose.

Using with new generation (4th) iPad Air. The connection and charging function are excellent. It is easy and seamless to use with the iPad. You will find yourself getting comfortable with the pencil and eventually using it rather than your finger to use the screen functions. If you are not going to use the pencil for graphic art design, use with the Cricut, drawing, etc. I would probably not recommend the use of it for the price. Otherwise it’s worth it.

I thought the iPad was complete on its own—until I tried the Apple Pencil for note taking at work. Now, I can’t imagine using one without the other. What makes it special isn’t just the technology, though that’s impressive. The instant pairing and magnetic charging mean it’s always ready to go. The matte finish keeps it comfortable during long sketching or note-taking sessions. The double-tap gesture feels like a small detail, but it changes everything when you’re in the flow. But the real magic is in the experience. Taking notes in class feels faster than typing. Sketching concepts for work feels natural, with zero lag. Even marking up PDFs or editing photos is smoother, cleaner, and somehow more enjoyable. It turns the iPad into something bigger than a tablet—it becomes a sketchbook, a planner, a canvas, a creative studio. Yes, it’s pricey. But instead of feeling like a splurge, it feels like an investment in creativity and productivity. The Apple Pencil 2 doesn’t just enhance the iPad—it unlocks it. Five stars.
