Targus said that they didn’t get enough notice to create a proper case that allows for charging the pencil. This is the only reason I didn’t give the pencil five stars. Apple needs to create an alternate charging device in addition to the magnetic iPad charging.

The iPad said that it was somewhat charged, though. Eventually it started working and has worked ok as long as I keep it fully charged.

I didn't realize that at first when I bought them both, but have arrived at that opinion after using them for while. Watch a YouTube video about all the thing the Pencil can do. You'll see what I mean.
