Sleek design
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an artist and a fan of Apple products, I was excited to try out the 2nd generation Apple Pencil. Overall, I have to say that I am impressed with its design and functionality. The first thing that struck me was how sleek and lightweight the pencil is. It feels great in my hand and is comfortable to use for extended periods of time. The matte finish gives it a premium look and feel, which is what I expect from an Apple product. The new magnetic charging feature is also a nice touch. It's convenient to just attach the pencil to the side of my iPad Pro and have it charge without any fuss. The pairing process is also seamless and quick. One of the major upgrades from the previous model is the double tap feature. This allows me to quickly switch between tools and customize my workflow. It's a small feature but it makes a big difference in my productivity. However, my only complaint is that I have to change the tips often. This is not a huge issue, but it can be a bit of a hassle. I wish the tips lasted longer or could be replaced less frequently. Overall, I would give the Apple Pencil 2nd generation a solid 4/5 stars. Despite the minor inconvenience of changing tips often, the sleek design, lightweight feel, and convenient features make it a worthwhile investment for any artist or designer.

Functional, Easy to use, Classic Apple design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Must have if you own / plan on buying an iPad. Having the extra capabilities is worth the price alone. Apple Pencil sports a clean, thought out design, along with a decent weight. Personally, I think it lacks ability to fully personalize preferences. The standard settings are simple, not to be confused for a bad thing. It is a very capable tool, that serves its function in a very simple syple. I digress, I would also like to add that the pencil is able to attach to the iPad via magnets. Allowing for a way to store the pencil away and simultaneously charge (make sure to consider if your specific model permits this feature). This lowers risk of losing/misplacing the pencil. It's nice having it secured, fully charged, and in the same spot. Classic Apple design, to ability to replace everyday methods with tech. The Apple Pencil elevates day to day iPad usage. If you are interested in being able get the most functionality from the iPad, Apple Pencil is the key!!

Amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a digital artist, I use the Apple Pencil primarily to illustrate in procreate. It hands down beats my Wacom tablet! It has a great weight and feel, is super accurate with alignment and pressure. I love the simplicity and the fact that it charges by just magnetically clipping to the side of the iPad Pro. Only downside would be the double tap feature switches my pen to erase... sometimes my jostling of the pencil in my hand makes it switch inadvertently- while other times I try to switch it by double tapping and it takes a few tries. Just a minor gripe though, and I’m sure there’s probably a way to change the settings that I have been to lazy to figure out. Also, if it wasn’t for my illustrations im not sure when else I would use this. You can use it to take notes or convert handwriting to text or just use the pencil to point to things instead of your finger... but I’d have a hard time recommending such an expensive item for just those uses. If you like to draw or paint digitally, however- this pencil is a must!

If you have an iPad you need an Apple Pencil.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently picked up the 2nd generation Apple Pencil to use with my iPad Air. The Pencil is a tad larger than a number 2 pencil, but weighs more. It has a slightly grippy texture and a narrow flat strip along one side that feels good in my hand. I wish that Apple had made the tip with a more rubbery so it did not feel slick on the tablet glass. It is a pleasure to use the Pencil to write or draw with. It feels natural. The pressure sensitivity is responsive and adds to the "natural" feel and muscle memory. I have mine set so the double tap switches the tip to the eraser and I got used to it very quickly. The only way to charge the pencil is on the top/right side of the iPad. There is a satisfying click when the Pencil snaps into position, and while the magnets are strong I do not trust them to hold the pencil in place and find myself checking to make sure it is still there when putting my iPad in my case or when removing it. I have take my iPad to a meeting only to discover that I left the Pencil on my desk. Battery life is amazing. I never go through a charge during a day of use and since the Pencil charges while it is attached I never have an issue. At $130.00 this is not a budget friendly device. You can purchase a good Wacom stylus for $65.00 but they are not interchangeable. I would only recommend the Apple Pencil only if you have an iPad that is compatible with it AND you are going to use it for more than note taking or simple sketching. There are cheaper pens that are good enough for taking notes on an iPad that are half as expensive - the Logitech crayon comes to mind.

Necessary optional equipment
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had bought a new iPad Pro 12” tablet and the old pencil seemed to have issues working with it. Apple suggested that I get the second generation pencil for the best compatibility for the new iPad Pro. It connected perfectly and without any issue. I love how it magnetically attaches to the iPad Pro and even charges it. So much better than the old pencil where I had to plug it in. I was always so afraid I would break off the lightning connector in the lightning port of the iPad. I even bought a charging cradle but it didn’t last long before it quit working. This new pencil is wonderful. I only wish you could replace the tip with soft rubber tips like many other styluses to give alternate tip feels. Like if I am drawing with markers and brushes. It would certainly feel a lot better.

Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) Lightweight and Easy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For any iPad user, the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) is an essential tool for taking notes, drawing, and other creative activities. As a proud owner of the white variant of the pencil, I must say that it has been a game-changer for me. One of the things I appreciate about the Apple Pencil 2 is its seamless connection and compatibility with my iPad – it starts working instantly as soon as I pick it up. The pencil feels extremely lightweight in my hand, and I can easily switch between taking notes and sketching without any hassle. The added function of double-tapping it to switch between various tools is also very useful. While I was considering purchasing the new Pencil (3rd Generation), I am glad that I decided against it. The 2nd Generation still provides excellent performance. The fact that the 2nd Gen Pencil can be charged wirelessly by just attaching it to the side of my iPad Pro is a convenient bonus, which I won't be getting with the 3rd Gen Pencil. All in all, the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) is a must-have for anyone using an iPad for artistic or work-related purposes. It's comfortable to use, lightweight, and seamlessly integrates with the iPad. For those who are considering the upgrade to the Pencil 3, I recommend giving the 2nd generation a chance first – you may find that it already meets all your needs.
