We had to pay ! to get a SIM card and then bought minutes to activate the phone. Once the minutes run out she will use it like an ipod but can purchase additional minutes if she chooses.

About a year after purchase, the apps were no longer able to update. Had to purchase a newer model. But if someone does not needs apps, it's great.

Can't beat the price

This phone is just like new and my cell phone bill stays the same. You just can't beat the price. I am very happy which my decision.

Cellhphone not unlocked
