Same Hardware at Twice the Price

My daughter wanted it because it's a Mac, without any knowledge about it besides the "cool" factor. Very few people understand that Macs use the exact same hardware components, from the same manufacturers (even the main processor# as their "PC" counterparts. She likes the computer, but has a hard time going from the PC #at school# to the Mac. The only difference, other than the price, is the "operating system" #MacOS vs. Windows). This comes down to personal preference. The MacOS on this system wins on ease-of-use, but at the expense of software compatability and a richer feature set. My advice... save your money and purchase a Windows 7 PC. Win7 ease-of-use is very near to this Mac, but at a much lower cost. ...and you'll get a machine that can talk to business networks with ease, unlike any MacOS or iDevice.
