These AirPods Max have been absolutely worth the investment. As someone deep in the Apple ecosystem, the seamless integration across my devices is unmatched. They automatically switch between my Mac and iPhone - if I'm listening to music on my computer and a call comes in, they instantly switch to my phone, then back to my Mac when I'm done. It just works, no fumbling with Bluetooth settings. The sound quality is phenomenal. Whether I'm listening to Apple Music or Spotify, the Dolby Atmos spatial audio is incredible - it's like being in a completely immersive sound environment. Music has depth and clarity that I've never experienced with other headphones. Comfort is another huge win. I can wear these for hours without any discomfort or fatigue, which is rare for over-ear headphones. The weight is distributed well, and the ear cushions are plush and breathable. Battery life has been excellent too—I rarely need to charge them during the day, even with heavy use. They hold up through long work sessions and commutes without issue. If you're already using Apple products, these headphones take full advantage of that ecosystem in a way no other headphones can. The premium price tag makes sense when you experience the quality and convenience they deliver every day.

I picked up the AirPods Max because I wanted a high-quality pair of headphones for longer commutes on the ferry and when traveling. They definitely deliver; the sound is rich and detailed, the build feels premium, and the noise-cancellation and comfort make them great for long listening sessions. But I also understand why some people hesitate because of the price tag. The clarity and balance definitely stand out compared to the Airpod ear bud options. The bass has weight without overwhelming the mids and highs, and vocals remain crisp even at lower volumes. I listen to all kinds of music and the AirPods Max reveal subtle layers and nuances that many headphones in lower price ranges miss. For movies and gaming, the soundstage feels wide, which makes surround-sound effects more immersive. Comfort and build quality add to the experience. The headband distributes weight evenly, and the ear cushions are soft enough that I can wear them for hours without fatigue or pressure. The all-metal frame gives them a sturdy, premium feel, and they have survived daily use (and a few accidental drops) without a scratch. Controls are simple and intuitive, and switching between Apple devices is seamless. Active noise cancellation works very well. It blocks out background noise on commutes and on planes extremely well. Transparency mode is handy too when I need to hear my surroundings without removing the headphones. For travel and everyday use, that flexibility is a big plus. That said, the cost is hard to ignore. At this price point, you pay for premium design, brand, and convenience (like seamless Apple-ecosystem integration) which are only meaningful if you already use Apple devices. For someone who uses headphones casually or isn’t invested in the Apple ecosystem, there are other headphones out there with very good sound and ANC for much less money. In short: the AirPods Max deliver premium sound, comfort, and build quality. They’re among the best headphones I’ve owned. If you care about audio quality and you want a polished, reliable listening experience. But you should decide whether those advantages justify the steep price.

AirPods Max honestly feel like a luxury item you can hear. The moment you put them on, they feel solid but comfortable, and they don’t get annoying even after wearing them for a while. If you use other Apple devices, the way they connect and switch between them is effortless and honestly one of the best parts. They are expensive, and the case isn’t great, but if you care about comfort, sound quality, and that smooth Apple experience, AirPods Max are worth it.

Sound is so great, especially with ease of toggling between noise cancellations options. They look cool and comfortable over my head! The case is weird. No way to fold them easily for storage. Overall, I love um!

The sound is excellent. The headphones charge is also excellent. It is a bit heavier than the Sony and Bose sets I have but you really can't tell when you're wearing them. They interface excellent with all the Bluetooth devices I use.

I’ve been using the AirPods Max for everyday listening, calls, and travel, and they’re easily one of the best-sounding and best-noise-canceling headphones I’ve owned. The noise canceling is excellent, and Transparency mode feels incredibly natural like you’re not even wearing headphones. Sound quality is clear, detailed, and full, and switching between Apple devices is effortless. Downsides: they’re heavy for long sessions, the case design is awkward, and the price is definitely premium. But if you’re in the Apple ecosystem and want top-tier ANC + smooth connectivity, these are a fantastic pick.

Despite complaints regarding lack of updated chip etc that may be present in the AirPod pros, the over ear AirPod maxes are a different breed of headphone in the Apple lineup. They took the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” approach and despite people’s skepticism, this is still a top tier premium headphone. This headphone is in a class of its own regarding luxury listening, being better build quality and a higher price range than the Bose, Sony and Sonos but not so high in price as the Bowers and Wilkins or B & O offerings. This sits in the middle as a premium noise cancelling headphone with premium metal build quality, excellent noise cancellation, best in class transparency mode, rich and detailed sound especially utilizing spatial sound with music and movies, and imo the best looking and most sleek design of any headphone in the market. Adding USB C and the slew of new colors gives this headphone the facelift it needs to continue being a top of the line headphone in the market. The new midnight color is amazing in person. And finally, the AirPods Max as expected fit so seamlessly into the Apple ecosystem that it makes it the best choice no matter how new the other offerings are. Despite the new Sonos Ace having newer bells and whistles as far as tech advancements, the noise cancellation and sound quality is better in my opinion on the AirPods Max still to this day not to mention better looks, build quality and working more seamlessly in the Apple ecosystem. All in all its impressive for a headphone from 2020 to be more than holding its own against newer headphone competitors that have gone through 2 new iterations since then. The minor refresh these new AirPod maxes got are frankly all they needed considering how Apple knocked it out of the park the first time with these. If you are upgrading for usb c and the new colors or you want to get these for the first time, these are definitely a must buy.

I’m picky about sound, comfort, and quality—and the AirPods Max deliver. The audio is crisp with balanced bass, noise cancellation is strong enough to completely tune out distractions, and Transparency mode actually sounds natural (not robotic). They’re comfortable for long wear and feel very well-built, not flimsy at all. Yes, they’re pricey, and yes, I hesitated—but after using them, I get it. Seamless Apple connectivity and premium performance make these a solid buy if sound quality matters to you.

as a musician and music major, i wanted a pair of headphones that could best achieve the feeling of being inside the music, and these are phenomenal. i also love that they fit my small head and have a really good battery life despite not having an off button. i can wear them for hours at a time and not experience any discomfort whatsoever. love love love

Stunning audio quality and a must buy if you listen to a lot of audio material. I enjoy using this to listen to audio books then I connect it to my computer at work because the noise canceling is excellent. Battery life is actually good for a day and half of use in my case and I wasn’t expecting that based on all the YouTube reviews I had seen. Also it is as heavy on the head as folks say (heaviest I’ve ever had) and the clamp force on the head does take some getting use to. Keep in mind achieving that thigh seal around the ear is why the noise canceling and transparency mode feels so unreal. Comfort wise it’s not the best as I need to adjust the headband repeatedly (say every 15min) and the ear up material is so rough and it irritated the skin around my ear lobes. I got a silicone skin for the ear cups on Amazon ($8) to fix that and to also keep the ear cups fresh as silicone is easy to just wipe clean (ear hygiene is a must). Apart from that it is very much like other headphones in that it covers your whole ear and yes your ears will get hot when using it outside or in a warm environment. On like my Sony MX 4’s there is actually enough room in the ear cup and the sensors are receded so nothing really rubs on your ears ( depending on how big your ears are :)). last thing to know is the ear cups will get dirty immediately you start using them because it’s cloth rubbing against your skin so expect all the body oils, sweat, and skin to get cut in in the fabric; you will be washing it often unless you get a silicone skin or one of the hundreds of colorful 3rd party ear cups on amazon that can help hide dirt. Buy at Best Buy because I will say they are more helpful and customer friendly than the folks at Apple in my experience.

First of all, the airpod fits perfectly, and i like snuggly feeling on my head while wearing it to workout at the gym. Second of all, the bass and noise cancellation feature. Its quite and let me enjoy my music without interfering from loud music at the gym. Lastly, the airpod is comfortable and soft, cover both my ears for long hours. Highly recommended and everyone knows that.

I work in a call center and wanted a wireless set of headphones that fit over the ear that my customers could hear me on in a busy environment. I love the transparency mode for when I’m walking downtown and can hear my colleagues when necessary. These fit nicely on my head and the sound quality is great. Going to noise cancelling mode is great when I the people I’m speaking to are on a bad connection or speaking quietly. I do enjoy the quick connection to my iPhone and computer.

Definitely a luxurious product Apple. The build quality of the AirPods Pro Max are stellar. The hinges are heavy duty, the cups feel robust and that overall adds to the heaviness of these headphones. Though they tried their best with the soft mesh which have a very nice feel. As far as sound; With USB C, now there’s lossless audio which is great for people looking for a more Hi-Fi Experience. Though to connect these to anything other than a device with USB C, Apple charges you $40 for a USB C to 3.5mm braided cable. Yikes. (I ended up buying it -_-) The sound is clear, with strong bass clear mids and highs. I look forward to listening to music on these everyday! Thought ive had a few software kinks when connecting these, the noise cancellation and transparency mode are some of the best on the market. I love these headphones despite their flaws and hope that I’ll have these for a very long time.

Don’t get me wrong, these headphones are nice. Comfortable all-day wear (except while eating), great sound cancellation, beautiful design, and stellar build quality. The all day battery life is great too. Just not worth the price tag. However, the sound quality is obviously not the draw of this product. The design and seamless integration with other Apple products is what draws people in. If you aren’t already deeply rooted into the ecosystem, don’t bother with these. There are much better quality (sound) options for less.
