The remote does it's job properly. Whatever you do, do not drop it. If you drop it, it has a tendency to disappear off of the face of the earth never to be found again. This is my third remote so far as the other ones have all vanished without a trace.

Not nearly as nice or easy to use as the newer Apple TV remotes but also 1/3 of the price. Convenient if you lose your remote but don’t love this product generally

These controllers are cheap and flimsy. This purchase is now the 3rd remote we've been through on the same Apple TV I've had for years now. The buttons are just weak and stop responding after so long. Fire stick was a much better option I switched to not long ago.

Does what it needs to do. Just the basic remote...

No frills remote. It does the job but doesn’t have the capability of its more expensive brother . Get it if you don’t have the scratch for the better one.

It does what it needs to, but there is no volume control, and the remote has to be directly pointed to the AppleTV in order to work

Doesn’t work anymore - I also wish it weren’t so small. It’s really easy to lose!

I was told by the store associate that it would work for MacBook, specifically in PowerPoint presentations — I wasn’t able to link the remote because my MacBook didn’t have infrared (newer model)

Hard to find. Older apple products unfortunately have not been adapted for the newer remotes. Probably will not be restocked as the newer remotes are voice activated.

Irritated I had to buy another since our other one got misplaced. $20 is a little steep for such a small simple remote. Of course, it’s apple so you really don’t have any other choice.

works well with the apple tv but not as handy as the one for the fire cube (personal opinion) but gets the job done

Though the Best Buy website says it is compatible with apple computers, it is not. I think it only works with an older model Apple TV. I had wanted to use it with my computer for PowerPoints. So disappointed that when I returned it, it was more than 15 days and I only received store credit. I purchased it for a trip because the website said it was compatible.

Why can't Apple just make a simple remote?! Tending/sleek just doesn't work here. It's a pain to use. Boo!

Everything can be controlled via WiFi/Bluetooth now. So while yes, this is super convenient if you have the older Apple TV, it's not a must.
