Wife and I hated the standard remote as you would hit buttons by accident. This is more of an analog remote. A little expensive but almost worth it.

Some apps don’t seem to fully integrate functionality and am still learning gestures / control UI.

A solid upgrade! Must have if you Use Apple TV!

That said, the remote on the original model was beyond frustrating, and my only complaint with the device. This remote is MUCH better. It allows scrubbing in shows, clicking, if the touch style isn't for you, and has the siri button off to the side where it's less likely to get pressed accidentally. A solid upgrade!
