    The cord works and functions well. I use this to connect my MacBook to my monitor and external ssd. I have had no problems with upstreaming or transferring files with my computer. My one complaint is the expensive price of this is cable. I was able to purchase this open-box and it works just fine. Build quality is great.

    It is very common to use a USB-C cable to connect two Macs together.... but that results in a low speed connection. You need this cable for the high speed (20 Gbps) connection. This cable does cost more but it is totally worth it. I just replaced my "charging cable" that came with the Mac with this one so that I always have it with me for high speed data transfer.
