Great as a spare

Heavier Gauge Than the Origianal

Although i was disappointed that the adapter did not come with this cable, I ended up keeping this as my everyday use cable and used the original as my spare for when I travel. Besides, the original cable is longer and comes in handy in hotel rooms and other areas where power outlets are not alway available nearby.

All USB-C Cables are Not the Same

For instance, I have a ASUS USB-C monitor that is powered solely from the USB-C cable from my MacBook Pro. The USB-C cable carries the power and the video signal. The cable that came with my monitor was probably only 6". I had purchased several USB-C cables that didn't work. After troubleshooting with the person that assisted me in the store, we realized that Thunderbolt cables carry the signal required to operate the monitor. But, I do think the Apple cables are overpriced, so I had to take off a star.
