    Useful to hook up the hold Thunderbolt Display to my iMac. Super easy to use, and it allowed me to use dual monitor with an iMac and an old apple thunderbolt.

    I have some older Firewire 800 drives and got this adapter so that I could connect a new iMac to Firewire 800 via a pair of adapters (this + Thunderbolt 2 to Firewire 800). It worked like a charm.

    I can now use my 10 year old 27" iMac as a second screen. Simple, plug the two computers together with the adapter and press command f2 and BINGO -it works!

    It’s shame that all Apple products cost so darn much! A little adapter like this was $50 yet if you haven’t upgraded your computer and other components to TB3 then you are stuck with buying an adapter. I will say this though, it works great and does the job.

    I bought it as an open box, it was in excellent condition. As always, being a mac accessory, cheap isn’t a description for it.

    Sped up my transfer from old imac to new from 24hr to 4hr so it worked good. All apple stuff is overpriced but it lasts longer.

    Didn't have to buy new monitors when we updated our macbooks. This helps you connect to a Thunderbolt display with a new macbook. We haven't had any issues.

    Was not able to make the Thunder Bolt connection work to transfer files from a 2013 iMac 27" to a new iMac 24" though I am still trying. The consensus from Apple was that it SHOULD work!

    If you need to connect an older Thunderbolt cable to a newer Mac, then this is one of your only options. So 5 stars for the actual adapter, but 1 star for Apple over charing for it.

    What can I say? It's one of many adaptors that any pro level user would need in order to use the new Apple MacBook Pro computers. The adapter works fine....less happy with with the new apple design though.

    Does exactly what you expect it to do. Enables the new USB C/Thunderbolt 3 to work perfectly (backward compatible) with Thunderbolt 2 and 1 connections (and Apple mini display port).
