Apple as usual

Connect TB3 to TB2 or TB1!

Review: I purchased this adapter so I could connect my mid-2012 MacBook Pro (Thunderbolt 1) to a modern eGPU with Thunderbolt 3. With a Thunderbolt 1/2 cable (sold separately), I was able to successfully use the adapter to run an eGPU with my older Mac system.

Limited Uses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to reuse TB2 adapters from my macbook pro 15, with my new HP X360 laptop with USB-C / Thunderbolt3 ports. It turns out this adapter does not work with specific video adapters, and possibly other adapters where specific data rates (e.g., video speeds) or specific protocol support is required. Looks like it is a basic 'media converter' but seems to be blocking / limiting transmission of required HDMI data, so using an external TB2 HDMI adapter for an external monitor doesn't work.

Great product for older iMac connections
