    Works but needs lots of understanding to do it correctly. After hours of Apple Tech support, I finally get it working with a 2013 Mac Pro. The connected TB3 device must be self powered otherwise it won't work because the adapter does not provide power to the connected device.

    I wasn't particularly happy that Apple decided to change the Thunderbolt connection on the latest iMac. So I was forced to purchase two of the adaptors to continue use with existing external hard drives. The adapter does the job. I simply wished that Apple had left well enough alone and not held me ransom and changed the previous connection.

    easy pickup. high quality product and reliable. Don't get confused with mini displayport. Only works with thunderbolt support devices

    This is misleading and unless you know exactly what each “Thunderbolt” cord looks like you will most likely end up with something you don’t need. Not apples fault but they should have better images portraying what the shape of each end of the adapter is.
