    Works but needs lots of understanding to do it correctly. After hours of Apple Tech support, I finally get it working with a 2013 Mac Pro. The connected TB3 device must be self powered otherwise it won't work because the adapter does not provide power to the connected device.

    I wasn't particularly happy that Apple decided to change the Thunderbolt connection on the latest iMac. So I was forced to purchase two of the adaptors to continue use with existing external hard drives. The adapter does the job. I simply wished that Apple had left well enough alone and not held me ransom and changed the previous connection.
