Not apples fault but they should have better images portraying what the shape of each end of the adapter is.

Just Another Dongle from Apple

Apple really needs to get it together with its adapters and ports and connectors and dohinghies. I’m tired of having all these dongles that I carry around. It has the capability to use 1 port shape and one wire to charge, transfer data, stream content, graphics, you name it… they developed the proprietary software, yet refuse to implement it. 1 cord. 1 wall adapter. 1 type of port. That is all that is needed. UGH

But sometime it has issues for camera, mic and also not get the usb connections from the monitor to the laptop. It is just like a display cord nothing else.

It worked sporadically. Every time it did not work, had to re-seat the cable or restart the PC. Apple support suspected cable issue.

Apple Thunderbolt Display dongle

The lightning bolt symbol is confusing. Best Buy has a better priced home branded dongle that does work for half the price.
