Couldn't Connect with Mini DisplayPort Adapter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I often need to connect to projectors and displays to do presentations. I had to return this because I couldn't get some of my presentation displays to be recognized (via HDMI and VGA) when connected with a Mini DisplayPort Adapter. I probably would not recommend this if your purchasing it to connect to a display with a Mini DisplayPort adapter.

Apple being Apple

USB-C why???
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really don't like the only-USBC direction Apple is taking. I had to upgrade my laptop for work, and was forced to buy multiple adapters for all the accessories I have to use. Some of the accessories don't work perfectly. Overall, I'm just annoyed. That said, the Apple-made accessories like this one seem to have no problem working.

Works like a thing that works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One day there will be an awesome cable plugin thing that works so well we'll never again need to worry about finding ways to make cables important. That day is not now, so adapters. It works. It gets a bit warm with all those toasty bits being diddled and translated back and forty, but it wasn't so hot I worried about it.

For this price, get a all-in-one unit
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product works perfectly fine, but it is just so expensive. Instead of buying all of the different connection pieces, I would just buy one all in one unit. It’ll save you money, and it will be a lot easier to keep track of!

Won't run an external SSD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very surprised that this expensive Apple product will not recognize a Samsung 3tb SSD I had attached to my MacBook Pro. After researching this on the web, I noted similar complaints. There is a non-Apple adapter that will work.

Terrible Awful Does not work w/thunderbolt monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got a new MacBook Pro at work, IT didn't realize it only has USB-C ports, everything in the literature indicates this adapter should work, when the first one didn't I spent an hour on the phone with apple and ultimately they said that it should work with my thunderbolt monitor because it has an independent power supply -- so I returned and tried 2 more in case one was faulty and because they insisted it should work - none worked. hours on support, hours in Apple Store lugging the monitor with me and they said they couldn't explain it but it DOES NOT WORK. if you're buying for an apple thunderbolt monitor, good luck, didn't work for me.

Does Not Support USB C 3.2.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not support USB C 3.2. I purchased this item to connect my Apple Pro Thunderbolt 2 port to a USB C 3.2 SSD to gain the advantage of the Thunderbolt 2 speed. The physical USB C connector fits my Samsung USB C 3.2 SSD, but SSD is not recognized. I can connect the SSD to a USB A 3.0 port on the Apple Mac Pro at the slower USB 3.0 speed using a USB A to USB C adapter cable.

Severely limited.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This adapter does not work in all instances of Thunderbolt 3 to 2. Check with Apple before you use it. You may be disappointed in its flexibility.
