Bought this to connect a new XPS TB3 port to my Elgato TB2 dock connecting Ethernet, hdmi monitor, webcam and keyboard. Worked without a hitch. Only reason it’s not five stars is that it’s expensive.

I inherited a Thunderbolt Display and needed to connect it to my new Mac Mini (2018). This is apparently the only dongle that will do that. The price is ridiculous, even for Apple (that’s only reason I gave it four instead of five stars). But it works perfectly as advertised. No complaints do far (had it less than 24 hours).

The Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter works flawlessly, and I got it at a great price. Also, having the same-day pickup option was a plus.

I used this to connect a 2021 M1-Pro MacBook Pro 16" to a Thunderbolt Display and it worked perfectly.

POORLY DESCRIBED: (Grammar matters - Eats, Shoots and Leaves.) This was poorly written in that the adapter takes the TBolt 2 CORD and converts it to the TBolt 3 PORT... There is NO WAY to know this without opening the package. Heading back to Best Buy for the 4th time in 2 days. You will need the TBolt (1) Cord NOT the TBolt 3 cord. Also, make sure you measure length from port to port for your set up, 0.5cm is NOT long enough for two 21.5 Macs - might just make it with the adapter.

Needed to use for G Drive with Thunderbolt USB C-3 capability. Works great for high-speed data transfer.

Purchased this adapter so my new MacBook Pro (with the USB-C) would be able to connect to my old Apple Cinema HD Display. Though the ports look identical, Thunderbolt 2 and MiniDisplay are 2 completely different thing and there was no fine print or description about this difference! You have to look at the tiny symbol on the port and cable to be able to tell the difference. It is advertised that the Thunderbolt connection is backward compatible, similar to how USB 3 ports can connect to USB 2 thumb drives. In other words, it should work when I connect a DisplayPort device (Apple Cinema HD Display) to a Mac with Thunderbolt (new MacBook Pro and this adapter), but that didn't work. So my final lesson is that it's better off for me to just purchase a USB-C to MiniDisplay port adapter.
