    This is a perfectly functioning adaptor however it is not a USB-C port to Ethernet like I thought. The thunderbolt is a bulky male end that did not work on my 2019 MacBook Pro.

    You'll need, or one of the other connectors if you purchase a new MacBook. MacBooks no longer have USB ports so you'll need these adapters to connect your phone or external hardrive.

    The AppleThunderbolt-to-gigabit Ethernet Adapter is a necessary accessory for your Macbook laptop. It is the only way to use a thumbdrive with this laptop. It is a little floppy having this adaptor hanging off your laptop but it does the trick. If I were to get another one, I would buy one with 2 ports so that I can charge my computer at the same time I am using a thumbdrive.

    Not that there's anything special about a ethernet adapter it it was supposed to end at Apple again provides a solid product I'll continue to purchase things from them and I will definitely go through Amazon so I can get you prices.
