    Can't imagine there are too many variations in this device (other than those that are after-market or non-Apple) but this is truly the way to go if you need to migrate large amounts of data from one Mac to another.

    I used this to add a second Ethernet connection to get more bandwidth at work for a massive video file upload. Halved the time of the upload.

    I bought this adapter on an emergency basis- to help troubleshoot a slow internet problem. Best Buy had several options, including generics. I got lucky and found an 'open box' Apple adapter!
